My introduction to transformers was in 2009 when Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen (r.o.t.f) was released. A year after that i joined tfw, it was like heaven on earth for me then because, you meet new people with similiar interests and best of all you get to interact with them. However for me recently i havent been as active with transformers as before. Which leads me to think im outgrowing them. Has anyone else had similiar experiences or are you all hardcore TF fans?

Yeah, only the immature stay interested in Transformers I'm afraid. Better to spend your free time reading T.S. Eliot and Samuel Beckett.

You only just got into the fandom, it was a passing fad for you.

    Too old?

As for the rest of it, yeah, it might just have not been your thing. There's nothing wrong with that, though. I was part of the Animal Crossing fandom from like 2007-2009 before I got tired of it and ended up here. Don't stick with something if you're not feeling it. Go forth and find something you truly enjoy.

Yeah, Animal Crossing has a fandom...

I'm 41, and as a result of my fandom - feel much, much younger.

I've fallen in and out of interest for little breaks (due to the lack of anything coming out or other reasons), but I've never totally lost interest in the franchise since I started.

First od all, bro, ya might wanna change your GT before PET Hits you with a FNC.
Second of all, I don't think anyone here will ever truly outgrow Transformers. Sure our interest might Wane after a period of inactivity, but Robotic Aliens that can turn into Vehicles is always cool.

I'm wondering the same, OP. Definitely not interested in a lot of the stuff Hasbro is putting out lately.

Maybe you're just going through a brief period of disinterest or something.
Or maybe it is time to move on.

Really, just do what makes you happy, guy. Play in a couple flowerbeds.

Nothing wrong with spending your day off watching Care Bears, either.

Well, there definitely seems to be a turn in the direction Hasbro has taken with the line. I'm pretty much done with TF Prime, and I don't see myself getting too many more toys until they go back to Generations 2011/ROTF quality, if they ever do. So in that regard, I understand where you're coming from.

You are never too old for the things that you like. If you want to move away from TFs it's not because of age but your lack of interest in it. I am 38 and still collect the stuff that I like, including TFs. Life's short enough as it is. Live it up.

I'm eyeballing my Voltaire and Alexis DeTocqueville at this very moment.

OP, sounds like TF was just a passing fad for you. No big deal, move on and one day, years later, you may find yourself back into the fold again. But even us "hardcore" fans have peaks and lows concerning our level of interest. Me personally, I'm only interested in CHUG and Masterpiece at the moment, but even those interests have their limitations.

In terms of the franchise, there's a bit more you can do with it instead of the main toyline and such. If you're willing to try out some of the newer G1 based stuff, I highly recomend checking out the MTMTE and RID titles IDW is putting out. Still transformers related, but excellent comics and nothing like Prime. If you don't like those, then it's probably safe to say you're done with TF's.

Do not try to start that shit up again about ponies.

People here can say they don't like Prime, I can say I don't like ponies. It's my right.
