I seriously cannot believe they thought this was appropriate packaging for a $50 figure. I'm not thrilled about this $50 figure being a tall deluxe voyager (I didn't realize that was the MPM Bumblebee next to it), at least it comes with a lot of stuff; but that blister card was a decision from the very bowels of hell. And the tear-away art style revealing the cartoon Turtles feels like a choice made entirely at the last minute.

Agree. The package kinda suck for a « collector » item. Ghostbusters and BTTF collabs have cool boxes that mimic the original G1 boxes, Stranger Things has that pizza box that goes with the figure’s theme and for TMNT we get this…

I feel the same way about the G.I. Joe toys in this line (but if the TF crossover movie toyline releases in the distant future, I’ll be happy). This scratches a nostalgia itch for me since I was really into the TMNT micro playsets back in the day and I’ve been meaning to get a Party Wagon toy for awhile.

As someone of a similar appreciation, I'm really sorry. When the idea is cool but the result merely whelms, it's disappointing. If I had FYM then I would be getting 4 (maybe 5) of this, but I don't so I won't. I'm appreciative of the "alt faces." I'm just getting the one.
It does give a bit of buyer's remorse for a purchase made not too long ago.

Have you seen the MEGABox TMNT? For converting Turtles they're pretty cool. Each has thier weapons and any 2 can form a party wagon (close enough anyway).

The art style doesn't bug me as much as the need to destroy the packaging to get the toy out. I don't save most of my packaging these days...but I do still keep the collector stuff. Maybe there's a non-obvious way to open it without tearing it up.

Can you give us some up-close video of the packaging itself?? I'm curious as to whether or not it can be opened without destroying it.

Okay, here's my review/video of the figure. I'm no Emgo/PvP, so be easy on me! Just happy to show off the figure for those who are curious.

Yes... and no. I cut the tape on the bottom right of the cardboard to open up that side, and then used a sharp knife to cut along the edge of the bubble. I popped the innards out and then popped it back in. It looks fine, not destroyed, and I can reinsert the figure for display. I'll keep the packaging as it's fairly sturdy. I was very careful with it.

Oh dang it’s actually a lot larger than I thought. Pictures made it seem like it was deluxe size.

Price is a lot more reasonable knowing that.

    Nice! Thanks for the insights.

Edit: and yeah, dude is a lot larger than I expected based on previous photos! Thanks for the review!

I was expecting something Brawn-sized or a bit bigger. He's easily voyager-to-leader sized. When I get home I'll snap some more pictures with other figures for comparison.

Hasbro can get away with the "we're homaging TMNT '80s packaging" excuse. But they did that recently with the Target exclusive Ectotron re-issue. Damn I hope this will not be the standard.

I preordered just one. While it's a novel idea - and a fairly well executed one at that - how Hasbro pulled off getting 4 turtles into one figures, it still kinda sucks that I can't see all 4 turtles at once unless I buy 4 of the same figure. I'll most likely repaint it into Metalhead. I have regular Turtles to place next to this.

Hope that if the Collab is successful, and Nickelodeon is willing to extend the license, Hasbro can come up with TMNT Combiners. 4 Turtles limbs + Splinter Torso. Foot Clan ninjas, Bebop and Rocksteady as limbs + Shredder Torso.

If Hasbro can come up with a Krang Android turning into the unreleased G1 Unicron figure, that would blow my mind!

Jurassic Park got two collabs, so it’s possible. It would be neat if a second collab was Shredder. I wouldn’t mind your combiner idea either.

The names are bad because two brands have to decide on something that both conveys the guest brand and doesn't step on any copyright issues, 2 different corporations have to get these names past their legal departments. I think I'd have preferred "Wallop" to "Party Wallop" but I get why they did it.

Maverick had that window box with an action scene of the F14 doing a flyby on the deck of a carrier. The first Jurassic Park set had the awesome diorama, the Universal Monsters have that VHS box, the GI Joes have the slide-together box, Tonkanator is a delightful G1 gift set box. Every one of those was better than this type of trapped blister card that looks like it's crossing over those Loyal Subjects BST AXN boxes that suck so bad. It's just such an odd thing to do with so expensive a figure: make it look like a $10 Ross find.

Nice review, and don't worry about not being Emgo, you're doing fine for on the fly, no edits. Really don't worry about not being PvP, I appreciate your honesty and lack of cheerleaderness, you like the figure without feeling like a Vince Offer-esque pitchman.

Nope. I have no idea who you're referring to, either.

    Thanks, I appreciate it!
