Ah, well, to be fair, the voyager Prime actually doesn't look too bad.

I wish they could reveal all 3 waves during toy fair, but I have a feeling it's just going to be just wave 1 or 1 and 2.

The toys tend to go a long way with me enjoying the material.. but when you release dog shit toys, it tends to negatively affect my opinion on something.

This movie seems like it needs all the good it can get, and repaints of mediocre figures just aren't going to cut it.

I wish they'd draw a hard line between collector figures and toys rather than compromise and produce something that isn't anywhere close to collector level and is still a tad bit complex for a young child.

If the "movie masterpiece" figures promised to give us the key players (the way they appear in THIS movie) I'd be thrilled. But like I said they're trying to cater too much to a middle ground.

Or it's a sign that the movies aren't that important to Hasbro's bottom line any more, and the continued existence of endless sequels has more to do with Paramount's interests than Hasbro's.

That really would shoot down the claims of how important the films are to this franchise anymore, though.

Yes, because several movies over the last decade hitting or approaching a billion dollars in revenue, multiple toy lines, a comic continuity popular with hardcore fans, two simultaneous television shows, a crappy web series getting sequels, and video games are all indicative that Transformers is finished as a brand.

I don't plan on getting this since I already have the original AOE Voyager from Hasbro, but that's it. I'm not getting it, but I'm not bitching about it either. For those who did not get the original this is a good chance for them to add this mold to their collection.

I like that Grimlock, and the redeco of Slash looks promising! The fact that the Bumblebee is still the same saddens me to no end.

    Box Office =/= actual revenue.

Yeah, sure, the film made a billion dollars. How much of that actually got back to fill Paramount/Hasbro's coffers? Because IIRC, those deals signed with the Chinese government ensured 75% of every US dollar amount made in China would go back to the Chinese government.

Riiiight. Because the near non-effort being put into what is known for TF5 compared to AoE in its entirety is not a sign of problems whatsoever, somehow. Or that's what you seem to be implying.

Oh, wait, that's true for any major film meant to market toys in the first place. God knows Cars has been out there for years.

The movies did not get a comic adaption for AoE as far as I'm aware.

On different competing networks because Hasbro drove the Hub into the ground.

If it's crap then why is it getting sequels?

Did...did you just defend that shit titled Rise of the Dark Spark?

And you miss the entire point. This should be a chance to improve upon the design, instead they're giving us the exact same mediocre toy wholesale.

I wasn't talking about the franchise. I was talkign about the movies. A billion dollars revenue isn't going to superscede a failing domestic take because guess which one Hasbro/Paramount actually gets more money from per dollar. Hint: it's not China.

I think these premier edition are just exactly what they say, they arent the official toys.

Remember how for ROTF we had the premier soundwave and bumblebee toys which were a repaint of the movie one version (with slight retooling)? We will get a proper bumblee everyone this is just the teaser toys.

I don't know. We have not seen any sneak preview figures for a long time and I don't think they would release that many at once.

    Oh boy...

Revenue=/= profit. Which film had the highest profit and revenue of 2014? The answer is Transformers: Age of Extinction.

So? Transformers has other ongoing comics, and the filmmakers didn't want any adaptations in case plot details got released like DOTM's did.

Two different Transformers television series. Running at the same time.

I'm not the guy who greenlit them, so don't ask me.

I have never played ROTDS. I have not played a TF game since FOC. Also, bringing up Transformers video games is not the same thing as defending them so much as simply acknowledging official Transformers video games have been released in recent years.

Here's the problem AB, and I'm saying this respectfully. You take your own hatred of the movies and movie toys and project that hatred as evidence that the movies themselves are going to tank and that most of the world hates the movies, and you act as if the movies are an affront to the brand itself. If you don't like them and have your reasons that's fine, and I'm glad people here are free to express their issues with the films, but please don't act as if the movies aren't financially successful because you don't like them.

I agree with Lazerwave. Look at the evidence:
    1) Quite a lot of 'Premier' toys. Far too many.
    2) Notice the Amazon listing states all figures as "Pre" indicating Premier.
    3) Middle-East lists all Legion, Deluxe and Voyagers as "Classic". It's their version of Premier.
    4) UK, Middle-East and Portugal listings for 2017 do not have any other Movie Figures listed.

Evidence say this is it and this is what we are getting as the TLK line. If we are lucky we might be proven wrong at the Toy Fair. But don't keep your hopes up.

At least this Grimlock's deco is better than the previous one...or that greenish patina seen in the Movie the Best line.
