We have to wait 10 days, to see if it's true that TLK have separate lines, premiere edition and a regular one, like in TFP.

    Hehe idk

You know, now that I think about it (probably helped by hope) Slash not beeing in the mini-dinobots (for now), "bad back" Barricade, and "cheap paint" Bumblebee... maybe this is a preview line... also this is the biggest tf movie to date, why would they go cheap on the toys, aren't they kinda of a major point at the end?

Never bought the Voyager Grimlock (have the LC version), and passed on all the box sets last round (stuck with my fruity pebble dinos), but if they end up doing all of them in these colors, I won't mind picking up a set.

Was kinda hoping Grimmy would get a new mold. Wasn't too impressed with the AoE version. Needless to say, easy pass. Though I do appreciate the movie-accurate deco this time around.

Looks like Berserker is the only on my want list so far.

Berserker looks pretty good, I'm definitely interested in him. I'm sure Bumblebee will receive an updated figure to match him going back to his old bodystyle as shown in some pictures, and we know that Barricade is a new mold. So...there's that, I guess?

Hot Rod, Drift and Cogman will be new molds...or sort of new in Drift's case. (I'm sure he'll be reshelled.)

    So Grimlock is Lunar Eclipse.

If they have a new painted TLK Snarl, then I'll be tempted.

    TLK new mold count: 3

    TLK repaint count: 4

I am more excited for the actual film at this point.

True. I just doubt they will make more new molds for all the new characters.

A simple recolor of the toy I didn't buy because of its permanent "catching flies" mouth. Great. This line is looking bad, dare I say. I was hoping that maybe a fatter Hound will come out but those hopes are dashed. Just like the ones that this new movie would get me out of my boredom of Titans Return monotony. I hate being this negative but it looks like it's time to pack my bags until Power of the Primes rolls around when it comes to purchases.

On a related note, I wonder if TLK Drift will be the one to break the Movieverse Red Car Curse (red car characters not getting Deluxes released in North America).

It's highly likely, but then I never imagined Hasbro would pass on repainting Bee into Stinger. I still don't understand that decision.

I mean, my assumption at this point is that "Premium Edition" is some kind of preview or "higher end" line, sort of like how AoE had all of its main figures shoved into Generations while all of the cheaper stuff had the actual AoE branding. It just seems really odd that most of the TLK figures we've seen so far are AoE redecoes.

Toy Fair is still coming up soon so for all we know we'll be laughing at this thread within a week or two.

I know what I'm going to say is unpopular but I can understand why there are some repaints in TLK so and I'll list two reasons why.

    1. It's been confirmed months ago that characters like,Crosshairs, and to an extant Drift are going to look no different from their AOE designs so it makes sense if they reuse the same molds form AOE in that regard which I'm not too upset about the AOE Dinobots being repainted into the TLK line. Reason I said to an extant for Drift was because aside from obviously his color scheme and new alt mode he's pretty much the same as in AOE so I can see his AOE toy being re-shelled and repainted. Reason I don't give TLK Bee the same treatment was because he does have a new design in TLK yet the toy is basically the AOE toy which is a different design altogether.

    2. They're repainting molds to have enough budget to make new molds for the new characters (Hot Rod,Cogman,Hooligan,Onslaught,Mohawk, etc),characters who have different alt modes that warrant new molds (Hound),returning characters that do have new designs(Megatron and Barricade) and characters that need a new mold that scales better with the other figures from both AOE and TLK (Optimus Prime.)

If that Bumblebee repaint is supposed to be an example of a "higher end line", then God help us.

Another factor might be that the previous two movie lines didn't perform too well (DotM deluxes and Stomp n Chomp Grimlocks are still super easy to find). This could be a result of cost-cutting and playing things safe. No company likes their toys hanging around on shelves months after their movie's been released.
