I have been researching different types of spray paints that I could use to repaint the TLK LC Optimus, and I was curious if any of you with experience have used Rustoleum sprays for plastics? Until now I have only customized Star Wars figures and ships using Apple Barrel Acrylics by Plaid, and I've had great success with them. Now I want to begin customizing Transformers, and thought about using the sprays for larger areas like the truck body, and the Apple Barrel paints for the details in robot mode.

Rustoleum is awesome for plastics. There is some that actually says it bonds to plastic and is a primer/color all in one.
The trick is to properly prep the item to be painted (soap/water), then let the paint cure for a few days before messing with it.

Apple Barrel acrylics aren't good for nice coverage. They have a weak pigment compared to quality paint like Vallejo and Testors.

Can you clear coat the Rustoleum for plastics?

    Yeah, but it isn't necessary.
