In short, TLK is tanking and it's taking the later waves down with it.

 

Well, damn and he's the one out of TLK I wanted the most. Hate to be negative but it's looking less and less likely Cogman might see release anywhere. I know Hasbro hasnt cancelled him yet, but I fear he might be very dificult to come by.

 

We fear it coming.

Will it? Takara has already been killing re-releases of Legends figures due to apparent disinterest. If the MTB line doesn't sell like they expect would they feel any motivation to release Cogman in a year without a major movie release?

And no, I don't count Bee movie. Mostly because I don't think Hasbro/Takara will either.

That would be wise. I know of one hovering around a Walmart that looks like it was opened and brought back...but odds are it's the only time he'll ever be in the area, let alone online.

One thing I would encourage people not to do is pay $40 for a Cogman on places like BBTS or TCP. Don't reward Hasbro or the online retailers for pulling this stunt.

"Cancelled" is definite. It's a commitment to never happening.

It's similar to how Hasbro long used the phrase "nothing planned currently" when asked about stuff like Predaking and "a full team of G1 Dinobots" rather than saying "No."

Delayed indefinitely means they're keeping an option open, and there's a chance they could be convinced to release it one way or another.

 

I certainly hope that comes to pass, but for now my expectations are equivalent to those cambered cars that scrape leaves. I originally committed to picking up DLX Hot Rod and Cogman out of the entire set of reveals in the summer for TLK toys, so it'd be a real disappointment to not get to deliver on that promise

 

Well, I first felt bad for buying him from Taiwan, but now I see that was the better choice. I'm tired of figures getting canceled and lines shortchanged because of this crap handling. I'm so sick and tired of it. I have to wonder if the same thing is happening to Hot Rod? He's in the system at Walmart, but STILL has zero everywhere in the computers. Not a single warehouse, distribution center or store.

Utterly ridiculous.

 

One of, if not the, most popular characters from the film...and his toy has been bumped to potentially never getting a release.

Honestly, it's just delusional at this point to assume that the TF5 line is doing anything remotely close to acceptable sales when the one surefire seller of the entire toyline is no longer even seeing a release.

Plus, as speculated, his toy being a headmaster was the only reason Nitro Zeus is also a headmaster. Meaning another abandoned gimmick. Shocker.

 

Sucks that its being cancelled basically. I'm glad I got mine on ebay when I did. He's easily one of the best figures in the line.

 

I'm glad I managed to snag a Cogman from TFSource then. Overpriced, yeah, but worth the peace of mind and not having to deal with the hunt.

 

I would've loved to get Cogman but...oh well.

Honestly after getting Voyager Megatron and Nitro I feel satisfied. I hope that the Allspark Tech Megatron shows up though. I need it for my TLK Megs collection.

 

Speaking of which, did that ever come to pass? My area Walmarts haven't even bothered restocking movie figures save for a few Voyagers. (I think the difference is they didn't stupidly order four cases of Wave 1 like Target and TRU).

Only reason TLK Hot Rod is in my collection (not even here with me lulz) is because a fellow family member overseas nabbed him. It was in Taiwan, and after that huge surge to UK, I still haven't seen news of it in the U.S. (listing is on Walmart.com but is marked unavailable)

Incidentally, I love Titans Return and mostly want Cogman because of his Headmasteryness.

I got my Hot Rod from TCP back in June. I'm glad I just did it. I mostly got it to make a Hot Rod/Rodimus shelf.. (Titans Return/G1, TLK, Energon, Animated)
