    Not much text at atm and will be heavily edited as I’ve fiddled with him during breaks at work today, but the first impressions is that I am thoroughly underwhelmed. Similar to Skullgrin (since he’s a retool), he’s got interesting steps but it ultimately is wasted on a dogshit alt.
    The turret doesn’t really work as it hits the chest sculpt. The workaround is… to have a hinge to ruin the whole fucking thing.

    robot mode articulation is the same as Skullgrin. Targetmasters have their handles painted over. Unlike Zigzag where you can kind of ignore the chipping as it’s at the leg and in fiction it’s not supposed to be there, you’re fucked with both Targetmasters now as the handles on the chest. Side note, the instructions don’t mention that the tabs slot into his nipples, so he can shoot milk instead of lasers. Unlike the G1 toy, he can’t do the thing where the Targetmasters replace the barrel of the tank mode.
    the tank mode connects via the 5mm port where you connect the tail on skullgrin.

    overall an abysmal release. Bad retool of a bad mold. All of these issues could’ve been seen a mile away. Only got it as I’m a slut for Targetmasters and even then they fumbled it.

    comparisons with Skullgrin and Needlenose

    I for some reason am still interested in this. Hate to say it but I’ll wait for more feedback from a not ultra negative reviewer.

    Update: Skullgrin is way shorter than I recall. Quakes feet is molded in black, but for some reason his front has glossy black paint over it. Bizarre. IMG_4562.jpeg IMG_4563.jpeg IMG_4564.jpeg IMG_4565.jpeg IMG_4561.jpeg

    I’m glad to see the red is drastically less Optimus Prime in the final product. I didn’t mind Skullgrin, so I’m sure I’ll like Quake. It’ll be nice to finally have a Quake that doesn’t have the wrong gimmick.

    Hopefully Toyhax will do a sticker set for this one to add some much needed accents.

    It's rare that they make a toy that is noticeably wrong in both modes. Usually a bad altmode is accompanied by a pretty good robot mode.

    On this guy, neither mode are presentable. The tank is... that, and the robot just doesn't have the correct colour breakup. Quake is grey and maroon, not red and grey.

    There are almost zero shared parts between Quake and Skullgrin. Not even the same height.

    Y'all do y'all, but I think Quake looks great. That Tank mode is a whole pile of concessions and half measures but bot mode looks great to me. :thumb

    The tank mode is easily one of the worst Generations tanks ever.

    They share the same feet, the leg hinge and knee piece , the hinge above his waist, the arm slider, biceps and the forearms and fist. There's a fair amount of shared parts, its just hidden pretty well and the entire (botched) engineeering has to dance around with these pieces in mind.

    The tank is shit, but compared with Skullgrin it's passable. A good robot mode + interesting transformation + alt mode that is, at least, something makes it a winner in my book.

    Look, I'd usually be ecstatic that the figures actually scales well. But this... wow. His scale seems to be the only good thing about him. Even his unarticulated buddies look like better figures than him; and some of you know how low of an opinion I tend to have on them.

    Sigh. =(

    And it’s official… my TR Quake will avoid the dreaded plastic tub of “you’re not being gotten rid of, just replaced on the shelf and forgotten about for long periods of time”.
