As a big G1 US toon fan, I'm looking into dipping into the Titan Returns Headmasters. From what I've read, the Hasbro toys are great representations of the G1 toy, while the Takara legends are representative of the G1 Japanese toon. Meanwhle, Hasbro Chromedome has a good IDW likeness.

Which Hasbro/Takara Headmaster figure best matches the G1 toon Headmaster representation?

Can't speak for color scheme, but TR HIghbrow has a strongly Rebirth/Marvel - based head sculpt (and Takara's looks more like the anime, and neither is like the toy, which didn't have visor-eyes.)


... checking some screen shots, TR Highbrow looks pretty close to the Rebirth cartoon as well, save for a few small details, and gray instead of blue hands.

 

I've got Takara Mindwipe for colours in batmode, Hardhead, Skullcruncher and Weirdwolf for most accurate face,
Wallgreens Brainstorm for face and colour. Hasbro Fort Max, Chromedome and Highbrow for face.
Its the best you can do with whats available i'm affraid. You can check Shapeways for Sunbow faces and paint them yourself.

 

The ideal scenario i guess would be LG Skullcruncher, Weirdwolf and Hardhead, LG Mindwipe, Chromedome and Highbrow with the Hasbro heads, Wallgreens Brainstorm and LG Fort Max with TR Cerebros.
Thats the closest you are gonna get.
