gGot this guy yesterday, and I really focused while picking one to make sure I didn't get one with bad face paint. And I didn't! I got one with Vorath's knees pinned in slightly askew, so he couldn't fold up neatly into a head.

Overall I think it's a great figure, cut down the shield peg so it doesn't protrude from the forearm mounting spot, and tried tightening up his ankles so he doesn't lean. Love the shoulders, double jointed elbows, I'd like a wrist swivel but it's not needed.

    My one problem:
generally not a fan of short thighs on robots, like TR Brainstorm. Makes it difficult to get wide stances, but unlike Brainstorm at least Mindwipe has moving feet to help with that... if you've tightened them up, that is.

While you're at it, you can also flatten the round parts that the peg swivels on a bit so that it doesn't swivel as freely while mounted as a shield.

So far so good on my Mindwipe. Great conversion from bat to robot modes.

How well does the Shield plug in as a tail for bat mode now that you shortened the peg?

I believe that the peg is the length that it is out of the package so that it'll peg in correctly when you use it as a tail.

Yeah that seems to be the original intent, but far as I can tell, mine was meh at staying in the chest port and shortening the peg had negligible effect either way. I think it's still long enough to stay in solidly if I added more to the port's walls.

This is the shield plugged in all the way, with it parallel to the body. Peg goes out a few millimeters if I put it in the max angled position for batmode.

EDIT: Added two small drops of superglue on the rim of two opposing sides of the hexagonal port and it now hold in super well.

Got him for about $3 (Santa Bucks + sale + Rewards Discount). Pretty good, innovative transformation, glad to have the Decepticon Headmaster Trio, but sort of a "meh" figure at this point.

Thank you for the review. I've been on the fence on this guy because I wasn't too crazy about his alt, but liked his root mode. I think I'm gonna hafta get him after all. Definitely one for my boyfriend too. He's big on bats.

Mindwipe is a great-looking figure. His designer should be very proud. I can't even begin to imagine the time it took to model all of the small details on this figure in 3-D software. I also love the somewhat complex, but very imaginative, transformations of the animal TR deluxes in this wave. The poseability of Mindwipe's robot mode is probably the best out of the entire TR line. My only complaint with Mindwipe is that the bat head isn't very poseable. This figure is definitely in my top five of all the TR deluxes released so far.

He was sitting around at a local Kmart alone looking sad (although I think he was just sculpted that way) for some time and I finally decided to grab him. I like his Short Circuit mode [IMG]

Was the Decepticon logo on the Bat Mode door (which is coffin shaped, I might add) a Toyhax label, as he does not have one by default.
