Well if you want a solid neck connection, chromedome's is a good Colour fit. Also a panel lining her eye's wouldn't kill , seems like Hasbro missed the TOP half for most if not all copies of her , really enhances her look.
Aside from the top-mount for the Generations sword and scabbard, the "turbine" section of the sword also fits perfectly between the knee details, in case one happens to prefer aircraft with big tail booms.
Yeah, I just ordered and paid for Hasbro Windblade a day or two before Takara's version was announced which looks a whole lot better. I think I'll just give Hasbro Windblade to my nephew for Christmas.
This just a beautiful figure in hand. The sculpt and colors are lovely, in both modes. I don't have the T30 Windblade, but I do have the RID one, and tihs version of the character blows the RID one out of the water. As has been noted, the transformation is stupidly simple, but that's not really a problem. It's effective despite being simple. Honestly, as much as I like Misfire and as involved as Twin Twist's transformation is, if you can only pick up one mold from Wave 5, make it Windblade. She's just that striking.
This Windblade is new and she feels more solid than the other two, but the RID version 2 Windblade (with the mouthplate) is still my fav. TR Windy's big square wobbly head bothers me. Gen Windblade was too fiddly, always adjusting fragile pieces Rid mouthplate Windblade , while somewhat cheap feeling looks awesome & Prime-like. The only one that convinces me she can throw down. The other 2 seem like nice ladies. She can also look straight up, which looks badass when flying with swords. So yeah F*ck TR WB Kill Gen WB Marry Rid v2 WB!!
I picked up a TR Windblade from a co-worker who had his replaced due to the issue. He said I can have it and try to fix it since Hasbro didn't want the faulty one back. Issue: Like Scourge and Highbrow, the head is loose. If the head is inserted and you push on the back of the head towards the front, her head just rolls off with zero resistance. Also, the cockpit doesn't hold in place with the headmaster port either. It just pops right back out. I tried similar fixes that worked for Scourge and Highbrow, but there isn't the plastic body round the dang little clip to bulk up and squeeze the clip better. Has anyone else encountered this and got a fix that worked? I'm thinking of taking the clip out, pinching it together with a binder clip or something, and submerging it in almost boiling water for a few seconds to reshape it - but not sure if that'd make the issue worse.
Got my TR Windblade yesterday, not bad but needed a few improvements. First thing I did was trim out the sides of the locking tab on the nosecone piece so that it doesn't stretch out the head socket - learned my lesson on Highbrow that it's not worth the small amount of stability you get for the nose piece to make the head no longer fit the socket. The next thing I did was dig out my Generations Windblade and get the sword and scabbard - a beautiful fit, and integrates pretty well in jet mode using the peg on the scabbard. The scabbard pegs into the side of the leg like it was perfectly intended for use on the figure. Not a bad piece at all, better than the Generations figure by a mile. Someone will do well to produce some nice sleek swords that integrate into the wing tabs and storage slots but also don't look like total crap. Tim "toy geek"
I cut out a small flat piece of the plastic packaging bubble, wedged it between the two halves of her torso being the headmaster port, and shaved it down to be flush with the stuff around it. Also, I put the head of the titan master in with the face towards the front of the figure. Not sure if it will work for your copy, but on mine that kept it from wobbling or getting too loose.
Is there a figure that shares this mold? I already have the original Windblade and I'd rather not get a double.
