It looks like the individual Titanmasters have some reviews already, but I just wanted to put together a quick review to talk about the aesthetics of the titanmasters in wave 1 and 2.

Here is Wave 1 and 2 all together. Wave 2 titan Master are in the middle.

Wave 2. Now I have to say it. Where is the paint??

In my opinion, all of the headmodes are well painted, and very detailed. The headmasters themselves are a mixed bag. There are already clones of the Titan Master bodys which is understandable, but also disappointing.

The faces are the tiny Headmasters are so small in intricate, that it is quite puzzling that Hasbro couldn't spare any paint for the wave 2 titanmasters. Their factory paint jobs on the partners for the deluxes and "Twincast / Blaster" are so good, and so accurate that it really is marvelous. I am confused how they dropped the ball with Wave 2.

Two of the Wave 2 figures are very disappointing as they have all new bodies, with new sculpted details, but no paint (Apeface and Brawl).

I was also surprised to see big name Heads that have cloned bodies (Clobber / Grimlock).

    Adding Head Mode pics:

I will only buy these if I like the mini-vehicle they come with, or I like the character whose head they become. Right now, I'm only liking Apeface for the gorilla/jet and Skytread for the Flywheels head.

In Japan. I'm sure Takara won't let us down.

I'm not. I'm sure its a requirement that the bodies have to be reused. Anyway, Clobber isn't Grimlock to me; he's Grimlock's headmaster partner who is a separate individual.

it just doesn't make any sense. Wave 1 has fine paint. we are talking about one little dab of paint on the face. But that dab has to be placed with precision as we see with Wave 1. I just don't get it.

Playing with Grax, Duros, Hyperfire, & Fracas I will probably skip the individual releases. These just don't feel like 5 dollar worthy, more like a dollar or less. But they are pretty cool if they have their own body to attach to. Please Hasbro give us a deluxe Horr-Bull, Siren, Nightbeat, & Squeezeplay.

That is some unfortunate handle-placement on the monkey.
And wow, Apeface's face doesn't match the rest of the figure's shade of purple.

It's crazy how they removed paint from the next wave. The first batch wasn't exactly well-painted as it was, but then they go and take away that tiny little dot of paint. Pfft.

I'm okay with that. The variety in color is greatly needed whereas Crashbash is the least interesting one from behind, his head and legs being the same color.

    "Where's the paint?"

I was just thinking this when comparing pics of the two waves. It s like wave 1 gets paint to get us excited about the new size class and wave 2 just shovels mediocrity because they think they can sooooo disappointing.

So, in regards to the paint issue....I knoooooooow we shouldn't have to, but it really is an easy fix.

Sharpie Paint Marker, dip a toothpick in to a puddle of it, touch to face. Fixed.

...and of course, they look better in person. But you get the idea...

I'm not adverse to touching up a figure with some apps here and there. Going to apply some yellow dabs to Blurr to go all in G1, but the fact they went from Wave 1 having paint to Wave 2 having soooo much less on the vehicles and basically none on the masters is just sucky on Hasbros part.

BBTS had stock a week and a half back. Mine are in the post to the UK with my Generations Book exclusives.

One of the UK importers had stock at Roll Out Roll Call this weekend.

    OK, coming up

I love these so much. Big fan of the Head only Japanese Headmasters. I used to own a few, but had to pay some medical bills a few years ago.

The sculpts are so good. Love the grimace on Brawn.

I got these from Captured Prey

These are nice, but not up to the super crisp paint job Hasbro has on the other Deluxe figures and Wave1 Titanmasters.

    Those looks so awesome!

One time I complained about lack paint on 3P Menasor limb bots and commented on how my 9.99$ TFP Ratchet had more paint. I got jumped on so quickly. :lol

But yeah both sides you can just paint it yourself.

    Good job gbm.
