Krok, former Action Master and follower of Bludgeon, now one of the Scavengers from IDW's More Than Meets The Eye/Lost Light series. Krok was previously made using the Stealth Bomber Megatron Mold, and came with his Action Master Partner Gatoraider, but for Titans Return, he gets a Titanmaster and turns into a crocodile. This is my first figure of the Skullcruncher mold, as I am planning on eventually buying the Legends version. As you can see he's a simple repaint with a new head, and the colors fit the figure well, but I personally think the colors shine in his alt mode. Also, as this is my first Skullcruncher mold, I don't know how floppy the Hasbro Skullsmasher figure was, but Krok's legs are slightly floppy, but not too bad IMO. This is Krok's headsculpt, who is also a Titanmaster named GatorFACE. Pretty sure this is a repaint of Grax. Krok's headsculpt is very nice, but the faceplate feels a little small for his character. This is where his colors really shine for me. A black, blue, yellow, and translucent green crocodile, his coloration oddly satisfies me. I especially like the usage of the translucent green on his his head, but I don't really like how the rubber cover for the compartment in which Gatorface should sit in is translucent green IMO. If you like the Skullcruncher mold, you may wanna pick this up. He's an okay figure, but he's not really an instabuy unless you're really into MTMTE or the old comics where he was featured as part of Bludgeon's crew.
I liked Skullcruncher, so this is an insta-buy. The colors look awesome, though I wish the lower jaw wasn't clear green. It makes the mouth look odd with a top row of solid teeth and a lower row of clear ones. Still, I'll definitely be snagging this one when available.
If I didn't already have the TFCC Krok...I might would consider this...because it does look good...I just feel the other does more for my thoughts on what an alt mode for Krok should be... Cool review btw...
Kinda want this because he's part of the Scavengers, who I love, but I also want to avoid repaints of toys I already own with this line if I can7 Though to be fair, I'm probably just gonna buy the entire wave at this rate. Krok's probably my 4th or 5th favourite from the looks of things so far though
Thanks for all of the great TR Wave 4 reviews. It's awesome to finally see some new stuff again. As for Krok, as I said in another thread, I have no attachment to this character whatsoever. The action masters were past my time and I don't follow the comics at all. With that said, this is and instabuy. The Titans Return beasts are so fantastic that I would literally buy any repaint of Skullsmasher, Wolfwire, and Mindwipe that came out.
I only buy toys for my boy nowadays , and only ones that appear on tv, even if it's just a quick cameo like the rainmakers and the welcoming committee , I'll buy them for him. So I won't be buying this for him. However if I did buy TFs for myself I'd totally be getting this for myself . Always loved Krok when he showed up ever so briefly in the comics.
Gator mode is very nice. I want this, but I'm sure it'll stick around for a while being a repaint. At least I'm hopeful it will hang around.
Does the left claw click when you fold it up or still just a very soft connection? I noticed this on both my U.S. and JP Skullcrunchers. Sad he's only one per case.
Did they fix the hip/upper leg ball joints? Or have those been scored on the inside like Skullsmasher's?
Yes, the left claw does click. I don't notice any marks, but I can't compare him to Skullsmasher since I don't own him.
Titans Return Krok and Gatorface: *Pretty much everything has been tighted up. His hip ball joints are still just a tad too loose, but you can fix that by using some clear fingernail polish or that pledge floor polish stuff *Oh, and I already did the mod by for his robot legs by unscrewing the crocodile legs and then turning them around into the back of the robot legs so they're no longer hollow and he can now stand a whole lot better.
