So when is this due out on the East Coast of US? ...deciding if it's worth paying a few extra bucks for him and a Sharkticon through Ebay rather than driving all over to stores.

Ah crap, they look damn good together. Now i have to hunt the other two down. I didn't buy them in the first place because they are rare and expensive for tiny little 'bots.

A uniform set would be nice but unless Takara/Tomy does it I won't get my hopes up. Importing a set form Japane would probably be just as expensive as hunting the individual figures down.

I'd have sworn the one from Fall of Cybertron was going for almost $30, but then it's been awhile.

Update: LIAR!!! Skrapnel goes for $40 on Amazon no less. Out of stock most other places. If I'm lucky I'll hunt one down for $20.

hmmmm looks like those wings are pinned on rather than just friction held. Will they be hard to remove to spray paint?

I do not know of this TAV you speak of. Is it a KO figure? I don't even know where to find those. Distribution is very bad in my area, even for KO figures.

Takara has the TAV (Transformers Adventure) line, which is NuRiD and includes older figures, all having that stupid circle scan symbol.

I will be troopbuilding this guy like I did with the other two.

I hope Takara releases this in the Adventure line (fugly molded circle or not) because that's my only hope of getting all three of them in matching colors right now.

the recent legends-class that are Titanmaster compatible have been coming out under Takara's Legends line, i imagine that'll be the case here as well.

I don't feel as much of an urge to pick this up since FT released their set, but if I see him I'll grab him. Like the other 2, I think I'll have to break out the airbruch and add some silver detailing - to make the set match more I think those wings are ripe for a sprucing up...

I haven't seen it explicitly mentioned in any review I have seen, so I just wanted share that it seems like when KB's arms are tabbed together, the extra bits near his elbows are intended to rest in the bottom of his butt. When in this configuration he has a more solid body and it gives a more accurate appearance to his bug mode.

After three years of wait the original Insecticon trio is reunited: Titans Return Kickback joins Generations Shrapnel and Combiner Wars Bombshell, not to speak of their legions of clones.

Kickback turns out to be the most affected by its respective series' gimmick: a transparent yellow panel on its chest can open to let a titan master... stand... in alt mode. Underwhelming, and well below what Titans Return Wheelie has done. It seems forced and unnecessary for the enjoyment of the figure.

Actually, is this figure enjoyable? More or less. If I had to buy it on its own I would not put it on top of my priorities.

The alt mode is spectacularly boring, with some robot lying down with fixed legs and two clear yellow wings.

Transformation is not very interesting, with insect legs just moving on the back and arms being lifted up and down just to pretend there's some transformation going on.

In robot mode Kickback is OK but there are problems with proportions and kibble. Good legs, stupidly long and awkward arms, tiny head and some insect legs on the back. The yellow on its knees matches well Shrapnel's tonality, but the clear plastic messes things up, especially for the chest. Its wings could look pretty, but the main thing they do is causing Kickback to fall as its heels are not sufficient to counter all the weight. Yep: Titans Return Kickback has great problems getting to stand without help.

Overall, Kickback is a mediocre toy with a boring alt mode, a bad robot mode and a useless gimmick. However, Titans Return Kickback is currently essential to complete the Insecticons trio. So, I do recommend its purchase, but I am really looking forward to a Japanese version without the clear plastic and with the chest shut with glue.

9/10 if you already have Shrapnel and Bombshell, otherwise 5/10
