I'm so sad at this news. I loved collecting playing this game. How can you not make a profit selling colored paper rectangles? I know there's so much more to it than that.

Thank you for sharing it! This needs to be added to the news imo!

Signed it! Gave 5€ to support it (dunno if this does anything or not, but it did not hurt me)

    Always compared to MTG:

One huge thing i think hurt the game (even before the virus and no one going to game stores) is everyone always compares it to MTG.

"How well is it sell? not as well as magic eh? How many tourys are there for it? What's the prize pools? Not as much or as big as magic eh? Must be a dead card game." Even when it was on wave 2 and sales where looking great.

This is really unfair and a really bad way to look at it.

Comparing any game to THE BEST SELLING GAME ON THE MARKET is always not going to look great, and drives people away.
But people have...do...and will for all card games that aren't the big 3 (MTG PKMN YugiOh). Ensuring nothing new ever lasts too long.

Maybe i can get a slipstream and cliffjumper now.

It's sad, but on a personal note, it's probably the best for me.

I said when I got my "Titans Return" case that this was by far the least value for the money I had received with so many triples/quadruples and just generally such a bad ratio of commons to rares/super rares. The TF card game started out with an okay value, got to its best value during Siege I, but for Siege II and Titans Return the value quickly dropped-- they started getting grifty/greedy to the point where I was ready to drop if they didn't reveal Beast Wars or Animated (expand outside the same G1 chars over and over) as the next expansion and started getting better case ratios again. So at least with this I'm not tempted.

It's unfortunate for many other reasons, but it isn't that surprising that a game that thrives on in-person competition would face trouble this year. I hope that if the idea of a Transformers TCG is ever resurrected, it will crib heavily from this iteration. Hopefully, there will be a time for that again after the pandemic.

I think titan masters made it overly complicated. Combiners was the high point. I bought mainly to collect. It was fun but definitely too much money. I wish there was a way to play against a computer. That would have helped it.

Also there's the fact Magic the Gathering was translated into other languages. (I got a freebie Korean deck with a Hasbro Korea purchase.) Like they weren't considering going multilingual with TCG.

The short answer is it wasn't making enough money.

I'd kill to know the numbers. Nothing is ever going to be Magic, they need to accept that at some point. Especially, if they keep pulling the plug on games after 5 waves. I'll go to my grave knowing the FLGS vibe they created by launching right into competitive support was a huge mistake.

I only have the EE Slipstream, but I could part with regular Cliffjumper if that helps. I paid 60, I definitely don't expect that back. Shakes fist at sky

That's a shame. I'm a longtime MTG fan and never really got a chance to play this (though on the flip side, very difficult to find anyone here that played it). I mainly collected this for the art.

Hopefully, it will return in some form for another expansion or two, or perhaps offered as mini collections similar to how MTG does their Secret Lair series (not the best way, but may help create demand and maintain a budget). Another idea is to pack a character card with any future figure releases.

Best wishes to all those who were involved. Not an easy time for companies, especially departments to survive post Covid-19. Would have been cool if a digital equivalent like MTG Arena/MTGO was made to help sustain the game and increase international appeal.

And for good reason. The Transformers TCG is literally made by the creators of MTG; they're putting out a brand-new product in direct competition with their own in-house franchise, with an even more niche audience than said in-house franchise. Talk about dumb move on Hasbro's part.

The one character card per pack also killed it for me, as someone who went from wanting to play to wanting to collect the characters, it became a very expensive hobby.
