Not bad, just wish the tabs on the robot feet for the left side stayed in more, but I guess it's not too bad because I get a bonu ankle tilt?

Wow, really? Mine are so tight and I had to finesse it the first transformation.

Mine has a minor QC issue with the claws on his right hand, they liked to pop out instead of swinging around, but I put nail polish on the connection points and that seems to have corrected it, or at least made it less prevalent.

Sorry for the double post, but a few pictures. Click to Enlarge

And the Scorponok headmaster has become one of my favorite, as he's now part of Megazarak!

I've been refreshing my "accessible bots" shelf. As I add in some new PotP stuff, I've been putting away some of the TR figures to make room. It occurs to me that I have really, really loved this era of TFs. Very few figures since the beginning of TR were ever below a solid B+ for me. Quite a few of these TR guys will remain out where I can pose them and pick them up for some spontaneous transforming...

For whatever reason, I love the two Monsterbot deluxes. They have so much character in either mode, wonderful color schemes- Twinferno is just tasteful and sharp, Grotusque is unusual and eye-catching), and really enjoyable TF sequences...

So Grotusque made the cut. He will remain on display the foreseeable future!

Just got around to opening my Grotusque yesterday. This is a figure I didn't know I wanted an update of so badly until HTS sold out so fast a few months ago. I am really loving all the details on this guy and his TM. His robot mode is really good but I like how much he shines in monster mode. He almost looks like a kaiju that would battle Godzilla. I rarely display my figures in their alternate modes (except for G1 Dinobots), but Grotusque is going to be on my shelf very proudly in his winged walrus mode.

The one thing I do take notice though is how wierd his monster claws look. Like a friend of mine observed, he looks like he's constantly doing "air quotation marks". I kind of wish they would have made some thumb claws that could pop out on the other side of his arm so he could hold things with said claws.

Guys...just a question...is this a regular release? My bad as I'm so out of the loop with TR stuff and I never saw this at retail in my part of the world.

Yep. You'll have to keep an eye on HTS. Don't pay huge money for one unless you're either A) independently wealthy or B) independently impatient. :D

It's a gorgeous figure with a more premium deco than most in the line but it's not worth a kidney.

I told myself that I did NOT want this figure and that it wasn't necessary at all. I collect mainly Decepticons, so getting this wasn't even on my "to do" list.
    Dammit.
I now have one incoming from TrU.

Wow, he looks great with Shuffler or Fangry as his head.

The good news is you can stick Scorponok on this body without a second thought.

Read his entry, he's supposedly been a Decepticon in his past. If that's not enough, put Fangry's head on him and enjoy, because it looks awesome.

... It burns my ass how well it works with Fangry's head on it. All Hasbro has to do is paint the damn thing purple and change a small portion of the monster head. Voila, we now have a nice Fangry.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if that's on a drawing board at Hasbro and we see exactly that in the post-POTP line.

These two look absolutely gorgeous together. It's amazing how much re-tooling Hasbro/Takara did to make the look and feel so much different on essentially the same engineering.

**Note**: I noticed that the right monster claw on my Grotusque is very loose and pops off easily. I also saw a user on a TF Facebook page post that theirs was completely missing the right monster claw right out of the package. So be alert that the claws could pop off and go missing. Especially the right one.

Can't wait for PotP Deluxe Repugnus. Hopefully he isn't too hard to track down once he becomes available.
