It does seem a bit bulky for my taste. I would prefer if it was thinner and sleeker like the first helmet.

I absolutely love the design of the G1 helmet, but if there was a way to reduce the bulk a bit it would be perfect.

I don't think the helmet is physically any bigger than the horned one, its just that the size of the crest being so large and the face opening being smaller makes it seem bulkier.

I really want to get the G1 helmet, but yeah, I'll have to wait and see if it gets slimmed down a bit :)

Got both the G1 and the IDW helmets - IDW Helmet looks great on old Galvatron here.

The G1 Helmet seems...bulkier? or bigger than the IDW one - and fits looser on his head (though I am gonna chaulk that up to Shapeways printing more than anything).

    Overall, I like both.

Wow, that G1 helmet is hilarious. Oh well, I appreciate the effort but it's just too big for the figure in my taste.

Got my helmet and cannon adapter painted. Testor's Grape Pearl mixed with white gloss until matched. It's great, pops up a bit in the back though. Not sure what I could cut on the inside to fix that.

It's also not finished. He said it was in the testing process. The size will likely be adjusted.

The IDW helmet is OK with being a bit bigger. Although even that one could be a bit smaller on top. But the G1 helmet is definitely too big. The G1 helmet was leaner than the IDW helmet.

That looks fantastic. What paint did you use to color match the lavender?

EDIT: IGNORE! I'm so stupid. I just realized that's not the shapeway head. I was looking at this on my phone at 4am. But if anyone does have formula for the Takara Lavender please post!

G1 helmet looks great and I'll definitely be picking one up. Just curious, has Fakebusker mentioned anything about maybe doing some cartoon accurate shoulder pieces for Galvatron?

I wouldn't mind a Galvatron face that slotted and/or glued into the mask itself making it a full face mask, I think the mask's crown details are the perfect size for him but the face on Nucleon is too recessed for my liking.

Did a test print of the latest version. I thinned the walls, brow and cheeks.
The FDM print quality is embarrassing though...

What do you mean by 'angled'? As in the sides should slope out?

I can reduce the top of the helm somemore but I also would like to retain his top dome though...

After you get this finalized & it's no longer in the test stage, will I be able to order one in frosted extreme detail.

I don't know much about shapeways. Is there a big difference between ultra detail & extreme detail? Is extreme detail worth the extra $$$?

All I know is I don't want the grainy sandy type. I only ordered one time from Shapeways so far but didn't order frosted ultra detail & my items were useless. It looked like sand glued together.

I'm going to make a suggestion.

What about if instead of a full-encapsulating helmet, a kind of clip on-piece. Like instead of the full dome, what about just like a ring (or half ring that fits around the head master in head form. And attached to that ring is front of the galvatron helmet, the top and some of the size scaled to fit the head.

The new version is better from front angles, but the backside is just far too big. I think that's just an intrisnic problem to the head master's bulk though.

Doing Galvatron's crown in 3D is difficult. Most don't get it remotely right. Yours is very close but could use some minor adjustment. I'd look at this for an example of it being nailed pretty perfectly.

Or why not just make an entirely new head instead of an accessory to the existing one?
