Tried the painters paint pen and it was indeed very close. It's closer to the ape face titan master color but close enough to look right on Galvatron. Cheap too so I would recommend it. Used some future over it for extra durability. Will order the g1 crown when funds permit. Thanks for the help everyone

Robogeek28 is clever for getting two pieces to obtain a matching effect.

    Thanks man. :D

While the parts are grainy, it's not noticeable unless your eyes are right on top of them, and the metallic grey is a great match to the grey TakTom uses as well.

Not a perfect match of grey, but damn close.

This all looks beautiful, and it solves both of the big problems I have with this otherwise fantastic figure. I just ordered the adapter in silver wsf, and the G1 helm in purple wsf, polished. Can't wait!

Is it safe to treat the purple SFP with acetone vapors?

Went ahead and ordered the arm mount and G1 helmet. I have the Walmart paint pens (the previously mentioned ones) and I'll use them to make it closer if the colors are too far off from one another.

I'm more looking forward to the arm mount, but if the helmet works as well as I think it will, I'll be a happy camper. I know the helmet is a test piece, so I'm hoping it works well. I'll keep people updated.

Which material did you go with? I'm looking for people's impressions of these in Frosted Ultra Detail.

Purple Strong & Flexible Polished. It was already purple and I have experience with this kind of material. Not a lot, but some.

I've never had a problem with FUD material. It's durable and has a very nice smooth feel to it. Looks great painted up.

Anyone got pics of the G1 helm. I would order without seeing the final product, but $5 shipping for a little piece of plastic?

I haven't ordered the helmet, but as for frosted ultra detail, it's great. I ordered a set of those Magnus arm wheels from Process and I love the finish to it, way better than the grainy finish the other materials come in. I stayed away from Shapeways for years because the quality was not up to snuff for me. Frosted is much much smoother and matches plastic, worth it if you want a better finish. I'm waiting to see a produced G1 crown to see how it looks on the head before ordering one myself.

    Okay, thanks!

I had already ordered the original design version in the polished purple material when the G1 design helmet was first announced. Going to wait for that one to get out of the testing phase before getting it in FUD and painting it in the color recommended by Mr. Chaos.

Got my G1 helmet in today. A tad loose fit, but gets the job done!

Edit: Sorry for the sideways pics. They look right on my computer, not sure why it is doing it that way.

Seems a lot bulkier than expected, compared to the original :(

Yeah I agree it looks bulkier compared to the first model. Still it is just a test version, and tons better than the stock option.

Definitely going to have to look into these once they get refined a little more.

Already debating on ordering two of the side cannon plugs. But once that G1 helmet is perfected, definitely ordering it too.
