Really disappointed that he doesn't even come with the gun he's freaking using on the packaging...

Otherwise looking good. That part just really sucks.

Now you know how we feel for the other 99% of the toyline. ;)

(We finally get a toy before America and its like Hasbro do it with everything... while also forgetting that many of the the toys you get, never even come to many non-US countries.)

DOH! I just realized why he doesn't have the wrist/forearm cannon anymore... They put it in the chest compartment that opens. The gun that Spike (Emissary) rides in. Why they did that, I'll never know...

And the fact that most of Metroplex's features are still retained but not being sold is kind of odd. Don't get it.

Fort Max looks great in these images, I'm kinda shocked how big Cerebros is in his bot mode.

Lets hope that both Fortress Maximus does not end the "Legends" line and they decide to add Grand Maximus. :)

To be fair, I wanted a "Masterpiece" of Fortress, complete with his Headmaster (Fort). So it is not that weird. :)

Metroplex was indeed like that; the US one has different sounds.

All the sound placement makes me VERY curious what Takara's will have if they indeed have the Headmasters VA reprising his role for the sound chip.

What a tragedy that someone will play with a toy for a few months before you have a chance to buy it. Your experience is ruined, you'll never be able to enjoy the toy the same as if you had been able to buy it before someone else.

yeah, the lack of any of Fort Max's signature weapons is extremely disappointing, for how much more his MSRP is the Metroplex, for him to have LESS accessories is pretty sad.

Here is a question. Not sure if answered if asked before.

Can Spike stay connected to Cerebros when Cerebros becomes Fort Max's head? It always sort of disappointed me on the G1 toy that you had to remove Spike to connect Cerebros to Maxie.

The hell are you talking about? You leave Spike ON Cerebros when he becomes G1 Fort Max's head. You don't have to remove anything. Do you even have the G1 toy? If so, you're doing something wrong.

    He does stay connected, yes.

No, you don't leave him on. The instructions explicitly say to remove him. I had Brave, I never left his Headmaster on in giant robot mode.

Guess I've always taken off Spike with the G1 toy.

We haven't seen it actually confirmed so far, but that one video of the toy show seems to suggest it. The Hasbro rep, when he was transforming Cerebros into the Max head, said he almost forgot he has to plug Emissary back into Cerebros before he's done. So yeah, I think Emissary is almost like the neck peg for Max's head.

Looking back at reissue G1 Max, there are still things I think look better and that it does better than TR Max. City mode and the waist guns being the things that stick out the most.

    BUT

Looking at them both together, I have to admit I really love the proportions of the new figure, especially the chest and arms. And the new Max head sculpt is so freaking glorious that it practically makes it worth the purchase for me all by itself. I swear I could look at that thing forever.

The video review shows it as well. It stays on.

I'm surprised people don't know that Spike can stay on Cerebros when connected to Fortress Maximus, but that is the case here as well. He is truly a doulbe-Headmaster that way.

G1 Fort Max has an empty space in the middle of the port to receive Cerebros that accommodates for Spike. It works if you choose to remove Spike first but that's an unnecessary step. Everyone I know has always left him on.

We're into Metroplex style mutliple versions here. Swords on the Japanese and (presumed) SDCC version.

Guns: we know the leg cannons come off and can be attached elsewhere or held (There's a metroplex style gun handle underneath the cannons) but (and forgive me if I'm wrong) a skim view of the video didn't show that. If any of the Australians who have him could get a shot of him holding the leg guns I'd be grateful.

Nice to see the peg seems to do it's job of holding the figure on, these had been worrying me when I saw how shallow it was on Buzzsaw.

He comes with an extra Deluxe figure and a Headmaster. I agree the lack of guns sucks, but I wouldn't say he has less accessories.

We got the US version of Metroplex here, so I'd be surprised if Fortress Maximus has the European one.
