I don't care about going for strict G1 accuracy for my CHUG collection but I didn't like the white parts on TR Wheelie and he needed a weapon. Made him a slingshot and did some paint work. Last 2 pics are a screen from TFTM and the figure before I did anything to it. BEWARE guys, enamel paint isn't sticking well to the white plastic parts. Its probably the first time Ive ever seen plastic this hard have any issue with enamels, but even after drying for 4 days it is still tacky to touch and paint comes off on my fingers. Going to have to strip it all off and redo in acrylics.
I wonder if Wheelie could be disassembled and dyed orange... that might produce a scrape-free result, at least...
Its just a few bits cut up from my fodder box put together with sculpt and glue, with a thin strip of styrene cut and twisted around then glued into slots I cut and painted to look like the stretchy band.
Nice work, sucks to hear about the paint not taking. I've always had a disaster with enamel paint anyways no matter what type of plastic
Thankfully it ended up mostly drying well enough, though it took way longer than usual. The whole back part his head is attached to never really did though so I stripped most of that, added some acrylic, and coated all of the painted parts in vallejo brush on satin coat. Seems fine now.
