Titans Return Deluxe Chromia (Shapeways)
Update November 19th, 2016



Alright. This is my favourite type of custom, which means it's quick, dirty and doesn't require any painting
of the main figure at all. Introducing Titans Return deluxe Chromia! She's converted from TR Blurr using a new 3D printed faceplate and halberd set.

Why Blurr? I guess it's due to their very similar colour schemes and his relatively svelte figure, plus he
already comes with a canopy shield that ironically Generations Chromia lacks. It's so easy now to convert
one character to another in the Titans Return line. I'm very pleased.





Her halberd is printed in 3 separate components which you can customise to fit. You can have
either a short axe and a long barrelled blaster combination, or put them together to form a huge
halberd taller than Chromia herself. The components are compatible with any 5mm peghole or fist.

Awesome. Your face sculpts are always so perfect.

 

Not bad. I already have the Generations version with the Beelzeboss axe and shield but this is a good alternative.

 

I've been waiting for this; such a simple fix for an already good toy that just didn't seem interesting enough. Honestly Blurr's fine everywhere else; its just the two-tone face sculpt that puts me off.

This will definitely fix it. Any recommendations for paint?

I used Gunze Sangyo Lacquers for painting, and the colour is Metallic Blue Green I think, with a dash of clear blue to match.

That's true. It's a little hard to slim down her face with the huge chunk of titan master head behind it. I imagine Chromia to be quite a bruiser though, so I personally didn't mind not making her too pretty.

What do you mean? What changes do you hope to see for the 'autobot' variant?

 

I don't suppose I could ask you to send me one of these in the mail could I? My paint experience is...minimal, putting it lightly.

Not now, just in general.

 

Damn, this makes me want to nab one of the many Blurr's that just came in as a restock of Wave 2 (I have no idea why Western PA gets shafted for TF release schedules) and try modifying the body to actually give us a G1 Chromia (I mean, wasn't she closer to a van than a bike?)

 

Accidentally read this as "Titans Return Chromosome", but good job anyways.

 

Absolutely fell in love with your headsculpt but just the head was apparently too "easy" for me so decided to make it more difficult for myself by adding some touches based on Sarah Stone's full body sketch of her redesign.

And her Titanmaster, who I think I may call 'Vanadiun' (she has the ability to boost the strength and endurance of sentio metallico, so I've named her after the element vanadium which, in fantastically small amounts, is a key component that gives Damascus or Wootz steel it's hardness and strength). I swapped a Flintlock head for the standard Hyperfire one for differentiation.



The only drawback to a Blurr bod Chromia is without the wrist joint of the Generations version and with the pretty much just about 90° elbow bend she can't do the nonchalant axe-on-shoulder pose I like.

Turns out she can fake it to make it though!
