To me, stickers just give them even more incentive to cut back on paint apps.

This is my 1st Titans Return deluxe figure and I'm pretty happy with it.
I did have to slightly file down one of the pegs on the car front section so that it would peg in for vehicle mode though.

I'm very familiar with your well-founded loathing for stickers. I feel pretty much the same but where I disagree is the idea of parting ways with Transformers over them. For the love of Christ, we made it through Transformers Energon. Surely, we can survive this too. :D

The thing that gives me hope is that Hasbro seems to be responsive to feedback lately. Looking at how poorly the tablet dudes have been received (almost unanimous complaints about the stickers from what I've seen) and how many of us are about to drop $25-$30USD on figures where the stickers are practically peeling right out of the box, there's a very good chance that Hasbro will change course on this.

They recognize that tampographs are almost without exception, better in every way to stickers. Switching back was surely a money saving attempt...which will fail if it threatens the glowing success of this line.

What makes the stickers particularly groan-worthy is how freaking amazing the tampos are on Scourge, Skullsmasher, and especially Brainstorm. They're gorgeous looking and they prove that Hasbro CAN do these things if they're willing to take a tiny bite out of the profit margin.

Thought I'd share a gallery of my detailed Chromedome. He's been panel lined, rims bling-ed out, and Stylor got some added paint apps.

Hoping a 3rd party or the Shapeways people can come up with replacement parts for the translucent wheels and canopy parts.

I can understand wanting replacements for the wheels, but what's wrong with the canopy?

Funny how the cheap deluxe looks worlds better than the expensive 3rd party toy :lol

Just got the Transformers Legend Chromedome. Love the G1 stylings. If we could have The Takara mold with the Hasbro tinted canopy, it would be perfect. Odd design choice on Takara's part.

Oh, seeing them side by side like this, I realize, I prefer Hasbro Chromdome overall. Now I'm even more glad that I bought him and not Legends Chromedome :D  But it's really seldom these days, that the Hasbro version is the better paintjob.

I am in the complete opposite opinion. Hasbro did a fine job with a IDW Chromedome, but Takara really pushes the G1 stylings. If you want the G1 face, door, and chest detailings, Takara is the only option.

Yeah, but I don't want that. I want the one that looks good :D  Only the interior painting is of course much better and the painted rims. But the rest, which is the most part of the figure, I prefer totally the Hasbro version.

I disagree. Hasbro chose to break up the side-panels in car mode be using brown unpaintable plastic instead of the more tan that Taraka went with, leaving the Hasbro version quite jarring when I look at it. That and the ugly IDW face.

I'm honestly surprised how much I like the figure. The alt mode feels like it came from the same company that desigend Springer's alt mode. It's fun. And everything tabs and moves solidly and smoothly, and it's got nice detail that largely picked out by paint to boot.

It's really weird that his feet are painted brown, despite being moulded in brown already.

And yet TakTom's breaks up the brown alogn the car mode. And said brown abruptly stops at the back, unlike Hasbro's which continues on to the legs. Also, the brown square on the hood is distracting once you notice it.

Outside of that, yeah TakTom's has more paint, but it does so in a way that make it look less detailed and less painted with giant blocks of colour. It ahs less detailed paint aps.

Better than the ugly, nondescript G1 face.

I seriously don't think anyone would have an issue with the IDW inspired heads if they didn't know IDW existed. They'd just see them as updates to the G1 designs in the same way the classics and universe figures took liberties with the designs.

Also, technically the whole figure is IDW, as the robot mode is based heavily on his younger "Shadowplay" body.

You are a known G1 hating troll. Your criticisms are all of the G1 design... You clearly don't like it, so why comment?

You clearly don't like the IDW inspiration for the design, so why comment on that?

Also, yeah, total G1 hating troll. I mean, I only have nine TR figures, all of which are slavishly G1. I should really just take my anti-G1 bias and get out. Everyone knows you can't like G1 but also like other things more than it.

Who put all these G1 MPs, reissues, vintage figures, and classics/Generations figures in my house!? Get this shit off my shelves!
