Man, I remember getting excited when I first saw that Robin costume...
Then I watch the trailer and I feel like this is a misguided attempt for the Teen Titans. The violence and cursing just seems forced.
Wow, that looks awful.
Well what do ya know, beast boy is green and starfire turns orange when using her powers, so in other words the footage does look better than the promo images. Looking forward to seeing this
This looks like it was made soley to appeal to every digital dipshit edgelord who complains about kids' cartoons actually being made for kids.
Meh it is what it is, honestly the violence and cursing doesn’t really bother me and I feel it’s probably in character for a realistic dick Grayson at this point in his life
This was never said to be for kids
Wow. I had low expectations going in, but that was somehow even worse than I expected. To start with, I’ve seen better acting, cinematography, and production design from fan films. Watch anything Bat In The Sun has done on YouTube. That looks way better than this. Don’t even get me started on the TV-MA thing. It’s Teen Titans for God’s sake. While the comics and the old show did go to some dark places, it was never hard R material, and it’s just plain misguided to think that the Marvel Netflix shows are only successful because of their mature content (which they actually do a good job of keeping in check so it’s not distracting and out of place). I can’t believe they paid a writer to come up with a line that was so over-the-top edgy as “fuck Batman” and then put that line in the trailer! The story looks more melodramatic than any of The CW shows, and that’s saying something considering the last two seasons of The Flash and Supergirl. Stop ruining Teen Titans please!
think about it in context. dick grayson is a cop in this, and was also very recently fired by batman (probably). his attitude of "fuck batman" makes sense depending on context and isnt necessarily "edgy"
I say this as someone who has watched (and enjoyed) a fair chunk of the Arrowverse shows and even bits of Riverdale:
This show looks friggin' emo.
gonna see it just for some Robin action. Looks cool.
Over the top dark-and-grit aside, it just looks plain bad.
I feel like the big plot twist at the end of all this is that DC is getting all these complaints about the unrelentingly dark and violent tone of their movies and they’re all going straight to Bizzaro. “Fans am want less violence and darkness? Me am give them show with NO violence or edginess!” And then we get Robin swearing while he guns down a bunch of dudes.
Not to jump on the bandwagon, but yeah- not feeling it. Raven at least looks right.
I'll watch it, but nothing about the trailer makes me need to get a streaming service to see it. I'm sure one of my friends will get the service and I'll watch it through them, or wait till it's out on video. Robin shooting and killing people? Nah doesn't work for me. (and seems a lot of the internet judging by the comments sections) DC stop going so dark, your killing audience interest.
Noticed (Comments are disabled for this video.) on their main video
They need to stop making this true
I can’t remember the last time a trailer so terrible I stopped it before it was over. This looks like shit for a TV show. I feel terrible for DC characters. I love them so much but everything in the last 10 years is garbage. I wish Warner would go bankrupt and Disney could buy the properties.
I'll be honest...the trailer looks like a college group project for film making.
For a studio trying to get away from Zack Snyder's approach, they're sure as hell trying to ape it. I think even Snyder would say "Calm down, brah."
I legit laughed when Robin dropped from the sky, and the first thing a thug asks is "Where's Batman?" like a disappointed child.
And fucking Dove clawing a guys face off.
I am interested enough to watch, if not just for Robin because he looks to be the best part of the series. Everything else just looks like the typical angst and teen drama that CW is now known for. Teen Titans isn’t really supposed to be a bloody, gruesome and hard-edged story, hence the name. Starfire looks like bloody garbage, I’m just gonna say that now. She may be an incredible character, but her actual design won’t do her any favors. If this was a Robin-centric series, then I’d be all over the darker tone that this is aiming for.
As it stands though with Teen Titans, I’m a little apprehensive. I don’t want to write the show off before it even airs, but I still think that the OG Teen Titans cartoon will be the best TT show that we’ve ever gotten.
