How’s everyone doing so far? I watched a buddy open 3 boxes with his wife today. They were pretty good. I opened 1 so far. Got Tracks as my SRT which is the one I really wanted. Rares were Kup, Sky Shadow, Shullsmasher, Nautica, and can’t remember the smaller guys but I think I got most of them.

Got one box. 3 rare, 1 srt.
I got 16 strategems and 14 heads. Still missing 4 or 5 heads to complete. Didn't get uncommon megatron body.

Got nightracer, fangry, brainstorm and sky shadow tank.

I guess skyshadow is pretty useless without the other piece.

Also got the preceptor promos. But not the other ones.

 

No Skyshadow is still a solid 7 star character! No need to flip and tough 2 with 2 defense is a good amount of survival!

 

After 3 boxes, character wise, I got 2 SRTs, 14 rares of the big guys. All the small guys and most stratagems. Disappointed I only got 2 SRTs for sure but at least one was the one I wanted. I almost had a full second Sky Shadow but didn’t pull a second head

 

Out of one box I got Pounce SRT and three rare standard cards, and all rare heads bar one. Got a torso-less Sky shadow as a result.

Was disappointed to end up with 11 duplicate standard size cards out of 30 though, worst duplicate ratio yet. 4 common Crankcase's and not one common Outback. Only 9 non SRTs to get though.

Battle card wise I got 5 Master of Metalikato rare's.

 

Are any of the SRT harder to get than others? Out of 2 boxes 0 Master of Metalikato.

Okay, I'm POed.

What a disastrous pull. I know there's some element of randomness to this, but this is ridiculous. From 1 case, I got 4 Crankcases, 3 Megatron heads, 3 Chromedome heads, 3 Bludgeons, LOTS of doubles (I would say somewhere between 2/3-3/4 of all TF pulls were doubles/triples/quadruples) and most of the Stratagems are for cards I don't have (I also didn't realize going into this that Stratagems take the place of Titan Master cards-- what a bum move, they should have been part of the Battle card portion of the deck and not taken the place of a smaller TF card). Not worth the money at all.

With the constant re-visiting of a lot of the same characters too, they better have a REALLY good hook next time (i.e. Beast Wars or Animated or something) or I think I'm done buying cards for this game.

 

The question is, how many SRT and RTs did you get?

Scott from Vector Sigma did an INCREDIBLE piece on the pull math in the latest Tech Talk. Heads are only included with Titan bodies and stratagems are put in the single character cards. I highly recommend listening for the craziness

 

I got 1 SRT (Nightracer), and then for Rares I got Sergeant Kup, Fangry, Brainstorm, Teslor, & Nautica. None of those, thankfully, I got doubles of. I honestly don't care how many Rares/Super Rares I get compared to getting different CARDS, though, and those were frustratingly lacking.

 

I opened 1 box and got 5 large rares, 4 rare heads, 2 rare stratagems, and 1 SRT. Of course, the SRT was this ugly a$$ card, the one I hate most of all...
the one I knew I would get. I think it is one of the more common SRT (I've seen a lot of people pull it). Who designed this card????

That's actually good. The problem is that all the common cards are the single character cards and there are only 7 of them.

You mention the 4 Crankcase and 3 Bludgeons so take out those 7 cards and you have 23 left
So 5 SRT/RT means you are down to 18 packs.

There are only 30 large cards in this set and 7 are SRT and you have 1 so down to 23 bodies/large guys
You have 4 of the RTs out of 7, more than half. Take out those 7 and you are down to 16 remaining characters.

So you have 18 packs to get 16 characters. Commons are going to pop up more than uncommon so those will pop up more. Does 4 Crankcases suck? Yea but its a random sort. You would have to count each CT, UT, RT, and SRT and see the percentage per 30 packs.

As for Stratagems replacing battle cards instead of the heads, I bring 2 points. First, series 1 and 2 had 7 battle cards: 4 Common, 2 uncommon, 1 rare. Series 3 and 4 replaces a common battle card with a small guy. All this did was get rid of a common you probably had a million of anyway. Second point, if you replaced another battle card with a stratogem, you would throw off the CT/UT/RT proportions as well as have a million stratagems that you yourself have said are useless because you don't have the characters.

 

Yeah, Series 1 & 2 I did not like the breakup and was delighted when they changed things for 3 & 4. So yes we'd get more "useless" Stratagem cards, but I have more than enough of every battle card anyway so might as well give me a chance of getting another Titan Master I don't have by packing Stratagems with Battle cards. Though Stratagem cards in general I think are a very dumb move. They should be more general, like apply to an Autobot or a jet or something like that instead of one particular version of one particular card.

With Series 4 and now 5, they are introducing cards that are by themselves useless and I REALLY don't like it. (Multi-part Transformers that require having all parts that come in different packages and now Stratagems as well. Siege II Omega Supreme is the worst offender requiring THREE parts to work that are all RARE.) Even with Combiners, if you didn't have the full combiner at least you still got a fully functioning Transformer.

I wasn't aware (hadn't been paying close attention) that all Commons were the single cards and only seven? That is absolutely ridiculous. On one hand they aren't making enough cards of one type (Commons and Battle cards) to justify an entire expansion while on the other hand making the ones they actually DO make enough cards of to justify an expansion (UT+ Transformer cards) too rare. It's just a rip-off at this point. Siege I was the highlight of the game given the addition of another TF card and no "useless" cards, since then things have gone downhill fast in terms of value. As I said, they better change things fast or I'm done buying cards for this game.

Skyshadow is the only combiner in wave 5, and both the plane and tank are very good 7 star characters in their own right. I get what you're saying, but as a combiner I think it's actually the most well done one we've seen so far.

 

And at least they are making all combiner boys the same rarity. Could you imagine if in series 2 they made the limbs all common or uncommon and the torso rare? Oof
