Loved Powermaster Prime as a kid so I want this... but I can't get over how ridiculously big the cab grill is now. It's an eyesore and was perfectly fine on the Ultra Magnus toy.

I gotta say, this guy is looking pretty good. He's definitely not high up on my wants list for Titans Return - though admittedly it's not a long list - I'd definitely consider picking him up if he showed up at local retail here

Looks less hollow that Ultra Magnus, probably because the trailer parts help cover that.

No the TR voyagers and leaders have helmets that bulk out the deluxe head sized titan masters so they're proportional. But since this is Optimus his helmet has a faceplate attached.

Really wish they'd stop putting needless panels/bumps/cracks/crevices. Take a look at the detailing on the original brickERRrm, toy. THAT'S how it should be done. Detailing on new one just looks chaotic.

Thank you for sharing! I'm excited about this guy!

Also, I'm surprised that we haven't seen any third party tackle a transformable cab for Magnus, which could then be reused for this figure. Looking at the comparison to the original PMOP, the size of the original is close to the new one and it seems they managed back then to make a passable robot mode from that cab, so I'm sure someone could come up with something now.

Thanks for the pics, I think he looks great. PMOP was always a special toy to me as a child so I preordered this guy as soon as he popped up on BBTS. Soooon, I hope

So we all agree his Headmaster face is a dead ringer for Kup right?

Do my eyes deceive me or are they using a different grey plastic than the weird sparkly beige-ish stuff on the PMOP stock photos? Looks a lot better to me.
It's gonna be good to finally have an Optimus Prime among my CHUGWTF collection, took long enough for one to come along I actually liked.

I'm sure they will. They are probably designing correct, static heads, Powermaster, target masters, adaptors for the original headmaster heads (which are more articulated than these...things), the optimus/ginrai cab, God Bomber/Apex, additional weapons (the other gun for Hardhead), additional bodies (for Apeface and that blue detective I ALWAYS forget the name of), and full headmaster, etc figures to complement these figs.

Don't worry, third party will save this dialed-in line.

Also, can we all agree that this ISN'T "Powermaster Prime" (no Powermaster), and that it is, in fact, "Titanmaster Prime" (just as the latest RID show has been rechristened 'NU-RID" (or whatever it was called)? It's a bit insulting to fans of the original, and much, much better G1 Powermaster Prime to reference it as "Titanmaster" and accept that Hasbro made a mistake either with the figure, or the name. They can't have it both ways.

Yeah, my three major knocks on this: the truck cab is just ugly as sin, even worse then Magnus for no good reason I can see, reusing Magnus guns instead of PM primes rather iconic double rifles (that would look much better on top of the alt mode) and the lack of some kind of flaps to close off the front of the trailer, that is particularly lazy feeling.

All that said, I actually think he looks quite good in bot mode and can't wait to add him to the collection. Love how they incorporated the TM seating in the shoulder cannons.

Those red hands are incredibly off-putting. It's not a deal breaker for me though.

I hope a third party makes updates of the big "concussion blasters" G1 PM Optimus has, and maybe an update to the original OP's "ion blaster" that is compatible with this toy. I'll never understand how Hasbro or Takara can remold more than half of a figure and yet sometimes still keep clip-on/peg-on weapons/accessories (that don't need to be attached to the alt mode for it to look complete) unchanged.

    100% skippable.

IMHO a new Powermaster Prime should have been something alot cooler. Magnus wins this mold thats for sure.

    Thanks for the review!

Titan PM Prime looks good, and I'm looking forward to getting him. BBTS has their pre-order listed for May but I wonder if that'll happen. I saw elsewhere that June was posted for his release.

Anyway, I like what I've seen from this extensive re-mold. I do wish Hasbro would stop being so cheap and add a bit of silver paint to the wheels. The beige-gray plastic may be an homage of sorts to the G1 toy, so though I'm not ecstatic about it, it's OK. I agree with the idea that he needed two PMOP-like black rifles instead of the "Thor's Hammer" Ultra Magnus ones. And Apex/Hi-Q needed at least his face and visor painted, sheesh!

I can't wait to see how Takara will enhance their version, whether he's an Optimus or Ginrai. At the least, I expect theirs to have a more silver-gray plastic and painted wheels and some detail paint for HiQ. Who Knows? Maybe Takara will make a godBomber too!

This may be one of those rare occasions where I feel the need to "double-dip". :D

I think it's just that the comics are popular and they didn't know how to have a comic version of OP in that mold
