This is a good question....
Yeah, one of the biggest reasons I want to get this is for possible trailer interactions with the CW '84 Autobots... I already know he can fit Legends figures but it'd be a shame if Hasbro missed that potential cross-size-class play entirely...
blurr fits nice. Not sure about the Cw bots. I imagine mirage would work well.
Has this figure been spotted in regular retail yet?
Nice, that works. Thanks
He's been spotted at Walmarts in Canada, along with Blaster. So I imagine the US sightings shouldn't be far behind.
Brainstorm fits inside PMOP's trailer too!
Finally got round to trying Tikgnat's PM Prime base mode with Blaster's base mode.
MUCH happier with it:
Mine arrived yesterday. Have to say the grey plastic looks much nicer in person. Even the red looks better. Awesome figure!
I am the king of bases!
Seriously though, good job. I must say, Blaster looks sweet. I must have one... probably gonna pick on up at TFN this weekend.
Also in other news it turns out I broke one of the restraining teeth on one of PMOP's wheels when I spray painted it, so it pops/falls off very easily. Then whilst inspecting the damage another tooth fell off too! In other words, if you are going to pop off the wheels be gentle about it, and not a club fisted oaf like me.
I've had to dab a couple of tiny spots of Superglue to keep the wheel on, which means it'll stay on but won't roll... unless I snap it off again (very tiny spots of superglue) and do a better fix.
The base mode as per the instructions just doesn't work with the ramps going down the arms.
Phil still needs:
3P Titans Return base mode extension ramps
3P Titans Return to Micromaster base mode ramps.
MAKE IT HAPPEN!
When I open him, I will try how he looks with the arm guns of my old Powermaster Optimus Prime. Those are a bit bigger. I hope the grey does not look too different. I only watched him in his box since I got him. But probably this weekend I will open him. I hope Galvatron arrives until then, too. I will have to re-arrange my collection
Anyone else had an issue with the little flap that fills in the top of the cab where the TM port goes? The flap on my copy was very slightly warped out of box, so it doesn't lie quite flush in truck mode.
I'm not sure if it warrants an exchange, but if someone can point me to a fix it would be much appreciated. Otherwise the figure seems great so far. I love that he gets full normal head rotation despite the helmet mechanism.
Heat it up with either hot water or a hair dryer, bend it back into the correct shape and run it under cold water while holding it in the correct shape.
I'll give it a try. Thanks.
Hair dryers can melt the plastic, hot water won't do anything and boiling water will be a nightmare to work with.
I use the steam that emanates from my kettle spout when I boil water, so no chance of melting. Just be careful not to burn yourself! Also, if you run it under cold water after heating that will make the plastic more brittle. Best let it cool down slowly.
Wound up using a piece of a box my checks came in.
I've never once melted a piece of plastic with a hair dryer. If it's melting, either the heat is too high or the plastic is being heated for far, far too long. Hot water out of a kettle has more than sufficient heat to warm the plastic enough to be malleable, especially on a piece as thin that flap. Letting it cool on it's own requires holding it in the desired shape or risking it warping again, which I have had happen. No plastic I've run under cold water has ever become so brittle as to break, and that includes the cheap KO shite. Plenty of customizers user the hair dryer and cold water combo and it works like a charm.
I just used a Hair Dryer on Rewind to fix his label.
