Should be an easy fix. Disassemble, trim spring, reassemble. OR Disassemble and trim plastic ratchet piece.

Either way, if it feels like it might break, I usually disassemble and try to fix that before forcing it.

Problem is for people like me who aren't used to these sort of fixes and aren't so keen on starting with a 200 euro figure.

Was reading a thread at Seibertron and someone suggested that the legs are possibly meant to be pulled away from the hips when rotated and that the spring is there to pull the legs back into place. The video below shows this (at about the 7:30 mark). So hopefully this is indeed the case.

So for those of us who are MP collectors, this guy should stand eye to eye with TW Devy?

    I can live with that.

I would advocate that instead of cutting the springs that are in the hips, simply pick up some replacements at the hardware store. You can cut those all day long and not worry about screwing up the official ones in case a third party comes up with a better solution down the road. Also, you might be able to find a compression spring with less resistance, which in turn would solve the problem in a different way.

From the last post I read, sadly seems it's not the case.

Looking at that unbroken/broken hip joint, I'd say you're right. It's not to be a ratchet joint but a stopping joint. Though who knows.

Its not the case at all. Nothing about the spring or leg design allows for it

Its just the same problem they had over the third party side with Siegfried and Dinoichi. Springs are too strong

Pages of rambling, and nothing about how to attach the damn legs properly.

The legs keep falling off and the giant based mode panels (his side) they attach to keep flopping open no matter how many times I click them back in, he wont stand and just keeps flopping apart everywhere.

Videos on YT show him already assembled and dont help with this, and the instructions and box dont tell hot to attach the legs!!!

    ARARGAGAAHHGGG!!

    WTF!

okay, can someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me HOW the legs are supposed to attach properly, as I dont want to break the damn thing by forcing anything.

I slid the leg slot into the aqua colored bit, accordioned the hip thing down, but it wont lock into place, it just goes 3/4 of the way in (that stupid clip to release the side panel for base mode is on the way, WTF????) and so he keeps flopping apart, wont stand, wont stay together. I tried it in both possible positions (rotate aqua hip thing one way or another) and both ways dont fit in properly.

I am sure I am doing it wrong, but so far finding nothing online to help, so for anyone who has put together in his official dino mode, please help! Much appreciated.

Pretty sure as you push the leg panel piece in, you're supposed to press that release clip too. I couldn't work out why one of the legs on mine wouldn't lock in properly and then I pressed the clip.

Is this what you mean dude? Hope it works

EDIT: As I suspected, had the legs on backwards, didnt know his head had to do a full 180, he was lying down, so i didnt even notice, poses MUCH better now thanks.

Great posability! Let's hope it'll be soon found a solution for the spring problem.

What a shameful design failure on those hips. A major defect and one that will probably cost Hasbro quite dearly in returned merchandise.

Reissue superginrai has insanely tight hips due to a very thick spring but luckily that was fixed by a dab of oil on the ratchet teeth, allows the teeth to slide over each other much more freely.

Anyone know if he had any push button ramps like the G1 Fort Max and G1 Metroplex in base mode?

Only thing I really care about at this point are city/base play features.

    No

He has lost the G1 launcher, and gained the "in tail garage", but nothing to launch.

But he now has a TM sized tunnel through his body so they don't have walk the long way around

The hips on mine are fine. The tail gets alittle scary though. Here is a comparison between trypticon and omega supreme.
