But why be a Helicarrier when you can be a high-speed jet instead?

There's something appealing about the little box stomach if you keep the accessory attached.
Because it's a crappy jet, both official and fan-moded.

Plus Laser Prime's tech specs absolutely trounce on Broadside's, yet he's an oil tanker and a cargo jet.

I won't be getting the nonnef shoes for Quake. Just to differentiate the two characters a little bit.

    So, got Godbomber in.

I'm seeing the complaints, oh man.

If you tab everything in just right, if you handle it gingerly, he'll stay together. If you bump him just right, the arms come flying off with the slightest pressure.

I'm not sure who handled the bulk of the design of this figure, but it doesn't seem much like an official product. It honestly feels like a cheaper, new, no name 3rd party kit that just so happens to turn into a robot. The red shoulder piece that attaches the cannon and CW/UW connectors on his thighs are the most telling of the step down in quality. On CW/UW connectors, there were grooves cut in and the plastic was smooth and detailed, but on here it's rough and cut oddly like a KO or a 3rd party would make on their first try at this kind of thing. Joints are overly tight in some spots and kind of loose in others, it just feels very... I don't know, I don't know how to describe it.

To be fair, I'd feel this way if Hasbro put this out, so it's not just me picking one over the other. This does not feel up to par with Takara's usual quality and certainly doesn't feel like anything close to their Masterpiece line, which is odd since they use pretty much the same materials and the same factories, so I'm not sure what went wrong with Godbomber, but he's just not up to snuff.

Paint apps are very well done, I'll at least give credit where credit is due and the colors of the plastics used are quite nice. The feel of the plastic and the construction just leave quite a bit to be desired. There's also too much bend and flex in some spots, such as the wings. I'd recommend supporting the hinge with one hand and manipulating the wing(s) with the other, don't let the figure do it for you. There's too much bend and give and in time you'll see stress marks and reports of breakage. It's not CHUG Wreck Gar bad, but it's not great, either.

He's definitely Leader Class, he might even be a slight bit taller than Optimus/Ginrai (I think he might be the tallest of the LC, thus far) but he feels like he should be at the $45-50.00 price point instead of the $60-70.00 he's going for now. (Yes, I know some of that cost is factored in with shipping and where the retailer is based, such as being US based versus being in Japan, etc.)

Is he worth getting? If you have Ginrai or you're planning on getting Magnus Prime, yes. As a stand alone figure? Absolutely not. You can tell he was designed solely to be armor for Ginrai/Magnus and the rest of his features were an afterthought. It's a shame, too, because he looks nice in robot mode, just wish he was solid as well as good looking.

That's too big for a boat. Sea Fortress would suit it better.

Went out of town to pick up a relative at the airport for my first "vacation" out of my sad little shanty of a town for the first time in three years, which was otherwise a pretty depressing trip aside from finding TR Gnaw at Target. He's cute!
