Does anyone know if there are any differences in the quality of plastic or materials in general, for the titan class metroplex that was released ( I believe in 2012)for the SDCC for $250 as opposed to the one that was just released that is going for around $150?

They were both released in summer 2013.
Plastic differences should be negligible if they exist at all.

I would assume they were identical save for one tree of parts being run through the vac-metal machine.

I thought MSRP for the normal Metroplex was like $130 and I'm pretty sure the SDCC one was originally $150.

The Takara one feels like it has flimsier runway plastic than the US and SDCC one. Partially one is black plastic and one is white. As far as the rest of the figure, all three feel identical.
