    Ah very nice.

These aren't supposed to be like overly simplistic one-step nonsense things though, right?

(more like, how the CW Superion is?)

    Sadly, no.

According to the Holy Scale Chart, Devastator should be approximately 3x the height of Soundwave. I just measured MP Soundwave, and he is 23 cm tall which means that Devastator should be 69 cm tall. 69 cm = 27".

Masterpiece scale is subjective anyway when it comes to combiners - for some people, if the individual robots are MP-sized, that's MP-scale.

No one expects a 27" Devastator because then you'd have 10" constructicons, going by the individual constructicons (a head shorter than the seekers) and scaling up either hercules or g1 devy (take your pick) you get between 17 and 19 inches.

Any other individual construction joints I missed in there ? There must be others other than Scavenger's.

At least I know now it does have individual constructicon modes.

I believe the exact description used was "upscaled deluxes". So definitely not one step, but they're no RoTF Optimus prime.

I tried to explain this idea earlier, but it apparently got buried under all the HasTak vs 3P crap, so let's try this again.
So, Devastator typically has two wide "nubs" on the sides of his helmet, while the new Devastator has two very prominent silver bits surrounding his chin.
I think they might fold up, giving this toy a larger, more G1-ish head, albeit with a lot more silver.
Terrible Photoshop, but I think it gets the point across.
    Thoughts?

I fully expect that if we ever see an MP Devastator from Takara, he will be a lot bigger than 18".

I think so far he looks very promising. I'm never one to get too carried away with proportions as long as they aren't really bad. These are robots afterall and frankly I like some odd proportions sometimes.

Now just a matter of how good the individual modes are. Looks like the vehicles will be pretty good and looks like Bonecrusher will have his classic chest.

This thing could be very, very special.

I don't see silver bits. I see black bits screwed up by camara flash and/or other lighting in the room.

*cough* Those 'silver' bits you highlighted is just glare on black plastic.

Wouldn't the flash affect the toy's other surfaces, though? The only pieces that are reflecting light, as you suggest, are those two symmetrical bits.
EDIT: Looked at it again and, yeah, it probably is just glare. :banghead:
Part of me still just really hopes that head is mistransformed. It won't be a dealbreaker if that's actually the intended head, but it is a bit discouraging.

Seriously though, does he realize that he's complaining about Hasbro fanboys in a TRANSFORMERS FAN SITE.

I don't see nubs tbh. Looks more like lighting imo.
