I am of the thought that Devs is neither bad looking nor good looking,he is just right down the middle, tho at $150 even before TRU tacks on a premium exclusive price increase I am not even sure I will try to get Devs, like someone else mentioned if after a year or so they go on clearance for $80 or $100 I might get him,but not at full price that's for sure.
I hope you're right but from what I see in that picture it looks like it does transform upside down. If you look to the side just underneath where they presumably connect, you can see what looks to be the traditional cube shaped cab flipped down. Looks like that foot is the back of the mixer, and sculpted/detailed to be a fake cab. Bit of a shame, as that cube foot is an iconic part of Devastator's look for me. But not a deal breaker either. I'll probably get this, but our Herc definitely isn't going anywhere.
this is a playschool style toy. over-sized, over-simplified, cheaply made, inaccurate colors. this is a kid's toy, not a collector's item. that is just reality.
It's going to have faults but Playschool? Really? If they had toys like this in my Playschool I would never have left........
Looks awesome. Only issue is the small head a top a massive frame, but perhaps it could still be a work in progress.
Remember, these aren't official or even very clear photos, and Devastator may be little more than a colored test shot. I would hold judgement on the colors until NYC Toy Fair, at least.
A little underwhelmed by this photo. Don't know if I've been forever spoiled by 3P offerings, but it's hard to believe this is going to be north of $150, let alone over a $100. Granted, it's hard to get the entire story from a single picture, but a few things seem off about this Devastator: -Little Mixmaster clubfoot. -Forearms and hands don't look like they're the finished versions. -Derpy head. If Hasbro fixed the above listed items then I might be in. Right now, however, this CW Devastator is an easy pass.
Judging by my local stores all they do focus on our 1 step changers and cheap figures. That mixmaster foot is odd also. Falls into the "just, why?" Category.
Interested to see what takara does with this. The head, forearms, and maybe the mixmaster cab can all be easily fixed by 3rd parties. Probably at least two companies will produce a replacement head.
If the Mixmaster foot, arms, and head were 'bulked up' this would be pretty tempting. Those are really the big problems. I'm kind of hoping that the one foot and both arms are mistransformed. It is sort of Hasbro's "thing" to do that. But that head though, that just needs to be replaced. Maybe with the Prowlvastator head.
Hopefully at the NY Toy Fair they'll have the individual 'bots on show; maybe then I might be tempted to cave in on this guy..
Even though I'm not picking it up, I honestly hope this is just a case of "mistransformation and bad posing", but sometimes it's not and the figure actually has the flaws shown. I've learned to always think the worst. That way, if it actually is better than it looks in the pic, you end up pleasantly surprised and not disappointed.
