OK Guys so here he is all finished up, well I think so. So I'm asking your opinions if there is more to do or not. Link to the flickr gallery. Time Raveged Rusted WFC Optimus Prime
After I perfect it I'm going to be making a tutorial video on the technique and post it on my website. Its a new technique I created using rub n buff.
any chance you can pm me a preview of the techknique i would really love to use it for a demolisher iv got an idea for it would look great on him im really impreased by it
Wow impressive. How did you do the rusted texture? I like the scratch built weapons made from leader prime.
When you do, certainly feel free to submit it to be resourced for our Tuturials I think I would agree as well, as some light silver weathering would contrast nicely with the rustic reds and blues on this one. Great job
... Okay, this LOOKS GOOD. It really does... But what's the point...? Does OP get rusted in the game? And if he doesn't, my questions still stands... Why do a rusted job on Transformers, Prime no less...? But it's a good looking job from the artistic standpoint, I have to agree. Just... yeah... It's weird.
I think I can see where you're coming from, but one of the things making a custom allows an artist to do is use ye old imagination. This kind of "weird" is what many here consider "cool". I think the best answer to your question may be, "because the artist wanted to, and could."
Because it's enjoyable to create something to call your own. Besides, Transformers are robot warriors millions of years old...seems only too obvious to me to do custom Transformers that at some point don't look as good as they day they were made. Game ? accuracy ?...nope, not when customs come into play, sky is the limit. Forget what you know and ask yourself.......why not ?
Cosmic Rust FTW. Awesome job. As other's have suggested, I think it would be a good idea to break up some of the rust with some silver or grey highlights.
I like the effect and color, but it seems a little much. I think some randomness of the effect would work great.
