The games are not even close to good. But that's my opinion.

I remember getting these kinds of games as happy meal toys in like 2003. What a trip.

Unexpected, but awesome news. I think I have the original stashed somewhere. Was great to bring along family vacations.
Seeing this, brings back nice memories. I believe Devastator was one of the bosses:)

To be fair, these are remakes of actual Tiger Hand Helds from decades ago, and it's kind of hard to remake one for say Beast Wars since, ya know, there isn't one to remake.

I hated playing these back in the day and only did when I was desperate and had nothing better to do. (Usually in long car rides when I forgot my gameboy or on long trips) Even now I still wish I had better things I could have done with my time.

    Your story looks so fake.

Why did you "forget" your Game Boy but not a video game that "you hated playing" ?

So, on long trips instead of being sure to have your Game Boy, you were sure to have the video game you hated.

They costed pennies to make in the 90’s, they cost even less to make now. $10 at the most for something like this, and only if it was in the same style of packaging as the original.

Because we kept two tigers games in the car at all times. They weren't in the house they were in my mother's van. Where she usually transported my friends and my brother's friends around town to soccer, Baseball etc. So she always had some distractions in the back of seats and in the compartments. Few crossword puzzles, some mad libs, packs of batteries a couple paperbacks, and those crappy tiger games things of that type. This was the 80's before every parent(but mine) seemed to get DVD players in their vans to keep the kids busy. That didn't even really become common till the early 2000s. DVDs weren't even invented yet, and other than radios and cassette players, there weren't many other affordable options for the average family. The ones that lasted the longest were the Double Dragon and Ninja turtles one. Others vanished or were broken.

I feel like I remember seeing a Jurassic Park one somewhere. I wonder if these will hit outside of Gamestop.

This is G2. Also, "waaahhhh, why does this large corporation try to release products that it thinks will sell? Why can't it cater to my desires, and those of a comparatively much smaller group of fans who want rehashes of other products that didn't sell as well when they were new?"

I didn't have a Gameboy growing up, so I ended up with about six of these Tiger handhelds. While most of them did suck, there was at least one that I actually liked - Sonic 2. It had levels that varied, many different enemies, boss fights that varied every stage, and underwater levels where you could drown. While that all sounds very basic, and it is, getting that kind of variety into this kind of tech was a real achievement. I really liked that game. From time to time I wonder if there were any others that were as good. All these games do come up short compared to what the Gameboy could do, but I respect the developers that managed to make something worthwhile with it. Playing the odds, the Transformers one probably isn't good, but if I'm in the right mood I might pick one up.

Here is a review of this handheld, although he doesn't really try to play it.

and here's a video of someone actually trying to play it emulated.

I'm torn: Tiger games are "cool" for about 5 minutes, then you sober up to being swindled by fancy cover art that is not well represented in game at all.

On the other hand, the nostalgia! :lol

Buying this is like going into a creepy cave or basement: nothing good can come from the decision, yet... You have to do it!!! :lolol
