I always wondered seeing how he betrayed the Seekers in All Hail Megatron, to some of his actions in G1 with some episodes like "Fire In the Mountain" were he was ready to help Skyfire to destroy Megatron's weapon, to the end were the Decepticons retreat were Thundercracker goes "What's the matter fearless leader? You and Starscream look really geeky. Maybe the Autobots aren't whimps after all". Do you think Thundercracker would turn his back on the Decepticons after thinking that he doesn't want to believe Megatron's freedom "Peace through tyranny" and joins the Autobots? Would he make a good Autobot? How would the rest of the Autobots approach him and welcome him as their newest member. How will some Bots like Cliffjumper, Brawn, Ironhide take it? Would they think that Optimus betrayed their cause by bringing in an Ex-Decepticon. Or would he go solo?

Been a while since I read it but the way I took it is TC believes still in the original Decepticon motivation. He feels loyal to his comrades but he just cannot bring himself to move away from the way they were supposed to have been, and not work with what they became.

The series bible had a cut plotline in 'Fire on the Mountain' where Skyfire almost convinces him to switch sides, and while he ends up choosing not to he does help Skyfire in the fight against Starscream. All that's left is the beginning of their interaction and the end.

In his original profile, Thundercracker isn't some true believer of the Decepticon cause, but he's also contemptuous of anything that can't fly. So no, he wouldn't join the Autobots. He may not be a Decepticon, but he'd never join the land lubbers.

If he wasn't fighting for the 'cons he'd just be a loner. He could possibly team up with Autobots for some common goal but other than that I don't see him being an autobot ever.

He feels like a guy that really wouldn't last long with any team and I haven't seen anything to indicate that he cares more about Autonomy ideals than Deceptions. He's probably just tired of Megatron and Starscream's egos.

Pretty much that---he seems to hate non-flyers more than he doubts the Decepticon cause. (at least, depending on which/how many characterizations you go by)

Thundercracker's contempt of anything that cannot fly should be shown more. If it were, he'd likely be friends with Jetfire, Powerglide and the Aerialbots but not Optimus Prime, the Autobot cars or the humans - maybe he wouldn't be evil towards them, but he would still feel superior.

Thundercracker's conflicted emotions are always one of the aspects of the franchise I wish were played up more. If handled right it has the potential to make him one of the most interesting characters out there (it's why he's my favorite Seeker... well, that and his pretty, pretty deep blue coloring). But it's generally sort of an afterthought. But I think there's something really intriguing about a character who is physically identical to countless others (including the second-highest-ranking Decepticon) who nevertheless has his own doubts and motivations that separate him from the crowd.

I'd love more toys/stories that featured an unaligned "deserter" Thundercracker... highlighting the notion that he's still an arrogant jerk in some ways (hence the distaste for non-flyers) but not overtly evil. He needs a toy similar to Armada Sideswipe's that has a 'Con logo viciously scratched out. Also, I completely agree with Bass XO that it would be nice to see him in a cautious friendship with the handful of flying Autobots.

So he would do just like Wheeljack did in Armada scratch his Decepticon insignia and replace it with the Autobot insignia? Or have no insignia whatsoever

I always thought he had, along with Bluestreak, among the most under-used and interesting bios in the G1 line. I can't say I really dig Barber's treatment, but any TC development is better than none.

Fingers crossed they have bigger plans for him in the pipeline.

    Thundercracker's a complex fellow.

It's a shame that they dropped that subplot from the G1 cartoon. It would have been great to have had that.

Thundercracker is a solo act now. If anything he can have Crosscut produce his screenplays since both love the theatre, however, that is if Thundercracker over look the former alt. mode.

I think Thundercracker is getting to be an Autobot but I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually goes back to the Decepticon side for the sake of the status quo
