Update: Complete! So I started with a Captain America headmaster with an ok amount of sculpting and apparently got a tad ambitious for a second project... I've decided to try and make a Thundertank from thundercats as a transformer! I have a knock off bruticus left over and was looking for stuff I could do with the remaining bots and this kind of worked. WIP with lots and styrene board and green stuff. Picture heavy obviously. Here's roughly what I'm aiming for, although second custom so taking a lot of artistic licence. This is what I'm starting with. For starters it's a combiner so that's not happening. Disassembled him and ripped out the combiner peg. Then made him a chest plate with the look of the cockpit. Fangs, visor, nose. Aiming for cat like body. Filled the back chest cavity so it's not just a gap. Next, I made the hands/tank arms. They aren't very impressive, or good even. Very static but I think the size at least suits the figure. He's a tank so should be bulky. Hands inside the outer hand basically. Changing up how the transformation works here though. Instead of tucking back in airplane mode the arms lean back but protrude forward to form the tank arms. Trying to build a cockpit of styrene and green stuff too. Making sure it fits at least 1 titan master but aiming for 2 to match the tanks original design. Started work on a titan master for the guy too. Fit a titan master peg slot into the neck and made the panthro faceplate. Long way to go and a pretty steep learning curve. Second time I've used green stuff and I'm having to change how the transformation works with a lot of bulking up. Basically picked this bot because of the hinged back of the plane cockpit. Saw that and instantly thought of one of the dream projects of my youth. So decided to try and make it! I know it will be pretty choppy but a massive chunk of the fun is in the doing/learning anyway. If nothing else, I'm enjoying the challenge.
