Going to be good I hope I can't wait to really see Mum Ra
Looks pretty epic, especially for a tv series.
Though I feel like the character drawing was more dynamic in the original opening sequence. There was a fluidity to the linework that you don't seem to see anymore.
While I didn't exactly grow up on Thundercats, I was a kid at the time, and did have some of the toys. I still don't have much of a clue what it's about.
I'll def give it a go.
love it! and yay for thunder kittens!
The orginal series opening was pretty awesome but the show itself wasn't exactly dripping in dynamic, detailed animation. Hopefully the new series will have a somewhat high and consistent standard of drawing and animation throughout. The disparity between what the orginal opening showed the creators where capable of and what we actually got in the show always bugged me something fierce as a kid.
Well I know that the standard set in the opening wasn't the standard you could expect in the actual show. It's what they are capable of when they have the money to spend and their best people working on it. They'll only pour those kind of resources into something important, like an opening sequence, on the basis that you end up watching over and over again. So it better be worth watching over and over.
But I was talking more specifically about the level of draughtsmanship and the linework in that sequence moreso than the animation. I find the newer drawings have a flat robotic look to them. Maybe the new design lends itself better to the production process, but it lacks the vigour of the old.
It's an observation more than a complaint. It looks like they've surpassed it in every other department. The colours, the lighting, the sense of scale. It's epic.
A new Thundercats toon? Cool! So when's this meant to be out?
I was never really into Thundercats much, (Can only recall watching a few episodes of the original) but that trailer looks like something worth watching. I think I'll give this new series a chance.
Awesome Trailer, I am enjoying the feel I get from it. Really hyped for it now.
Edit: just had to rewatch. GRUNE THE DESTROYER FTW!
This looks awesome!
When does it start?
0:51 Yay! it's Wilykat and Wilykit...and they are so freaking adorable
glad to see that they are in this show.
also at 0:55...wow! Snarf has gotten a super upgrade in the "cute" department!!!
Watching this, I'm really getting an old anime vibe from it. Like, it makes me think of the way anime used to be drawn and colored back in the 80s. I like it.
oh i know! aren't they so adorable?
they remind me of the code loyko *in world* characters lol
also, apparently THEY Have tailsss!
Very nice and the animation style reminds me of Escaflowne.
That does look pretty cool. I wonder how the voices will be.
I just saw the video and I am more stoked for the show now than ever.
I'd love to see Corey Burton as Mum-Ra.
I hope the new cartoon keeps up the sword gimmick. My favorite part was always when Lion-O would pull out his sword, and it would grow to like twice it's size, and he'd yell "Thundercats, ho!" and then all of the rest of the Thundercats would come.
Looks like a barrel of monkey crap too. I'll be passing this one over. I'll buy the Bandai Classics maybe, but as for watching this junk, forget about it.
I think it looks great, quality of animation looks about par with Young Justice, and if the writing is as solid I think we'll have a successful revival on our hands.
Count me in for ADVENTURE HO.......
