Oh god yes. Made my heart skip a beat there. Is it just me or the little Unicron theme they played sounded like the 86's movie Unicron theme kind of? As soon as I heard it all I could do was remember that.
It was very chilling, and incredibly well done. The lack (that I remember) of background music made it work really well. Kind of like in Aliens, whenever that god damned motion tracker goes off. Well played writers and animators, well played.
Just replayed it. There was some background music when it happened. Very quiet and tense. But no, it didn't really sound like the Unicron theme.
I love how all you can hear during the scene is the heart beat. Then showing all the characters faces as they all come to the same realization.
There's no doubt in my mind that this was easily the best moment of the episode. I got the same chills from this as when Megatron grabbed Prime's sword and his eyes lit up in One Shall Fall.
Augh! IT'S THE BEATING OF THAT HIDIOUS SPAAAAAAAAAAARK! Wow. That's chilling to ponder. I don't know if I can deal with that.
I seem to remember Airrazor's beating when Rhinox operated on her in Beast Wars? That's my only real point of reference, personally I'm accepting it as a kind of "yeah, sure, why not" thing.
So the beating of a human heart originated from the beating of Unicron's spark as well? Damn, this show keeps getting more interesting.
Seriously, this is downright one of the scariest plot twists that they've ever had in a Transformers series. The more you think about it the creepier it gets...
I really enjoy this idea. Imagine realizing that one of the greatest threats in the universe, a being so reviled may have been the seed that gave birth to humanity. If so, is humanity tied to Unicron in more ways than one. Could humanity's success, all the achievements of life on earth be due to Unicron. Does life on earth carry potential for such darknes? It weaves a tapestry that connects earth and its inhabitants to Cybertron and its people. In a way, Cybertronians and humans can be considered as related. The progeny of brothers that became bitter enemies.
isn't this also the first show to show Unicron speaking, as in with lip-sync on his face? G1 Unicron's mouth didn't move with his words, and i'm not quite sure, but I don't think UT Unicron's did either.
I always figured sparks 'pulsed' rather than 'beated'. But hey, it's cool to know that underneath their metal exteriors, Cybertronians have beating 'hearts' like us.
