I hope I don't look like a fucking moron by posting this, but it's 2am and I had to make this to visualize what I mean. IMG_1475.jpeg
A lot of this was obvious, but anyone agree with with me on the shoulder, knee and bull bar lights part?
It's hard to see on screenshots but in the movie these parts reflect light as if they were light lenses. IMG_1417.jpeg IMG_1414.jpeg IMG_1420.jpeg

God the wait from ShowZ is almost killing me.

Now all that’s left is finding some…companion pieces to go with him.

God how long until Scourge and Primal come out??

The shoulders are those chrome add-on panels by the rear of the cab, but a lot of the parts don't match up really because the robot mode uses different parts than the actual hero truck.

Right, I know about the silver panel but I'm talking about the bit on the silver panel. IMG_1476.jpeg It looks to be the handle on the front of the cab, IMG_6808.jpeg
But I feel it could also be his mirrors folded up. IMG_6808.jpeg

I think it's meant to just be a hinge that connects them to the truck and flips the panels around. If you look at them compared to truck mode, they are flipped to the opposite side for robot mode. So what you're seeing is just the other side of the panel and what connects it.

Checking my reference, it's just kibble, likely the inside of where the heat shields are clamped around the muffler. A lot of the truck parts on Primes bot mode don't match up to the real semi.
I can see the bull bar bit being in the chest, with the lights, but a lot of Primes robot mode was based on concept art for a differently detailed truck before they got to to the final design. 20230322_231406.jpg

other way around, the truck stayed the same throughout production but the robot mode changed. The concept art optimus was based on this truck model while the final optimus for whatever reason randomly changed details to have less of the truck visible.

They couldn't decide if it was gonna be a reboot or prequel so they created this concept art of Optimus that had arm bits almost identical to Bayverse Prime. IMG_1484.jpeg He even has his gas canisters on his back! IMG_1483.jpeg
Though I guess they ultimately went with the Bumblebee Movie Optimus Concept art. IMG_1482.jpeg Which obviously still went through revisions by ILM to look refined, which is why Prime looks a little awkward in ROTB.

    C'mon baby! Almost here!

Curious, are there any available articulated hands for him? The ones shown with the figure look good, but I'm hoping to see if there was available stock for more expressive gestures.

What I don't understand is that they have the technology to make this. The TLK Optimus head was so perfect, it had all the details in the eyes and it made an upgrade head unnecessary. By far the best DLX headsculpt.

They probably make the others underdetailed to cut costs, bcs when they make Premius their heads are perfect, like the bbm Optimus.

They have the resources and the CAD models so it's weird when they mess it up. From angles, the stock head looks great. IMG_1598.jpeg

I edited on small pupils like he has in some shots of the film. Because with the regular LEDs he looks a bit weird. IMG_9471.jpeg

BBM's head looks good but missing the finer details. Like the second set of head antenna behind. IMG_0066.jpeg

And you're right, TLK DLX Prime has a damn near perfect eye sculpt. IMG_9469.jpeg

And it's weird how they fumbled ROTF Prime's sculpt. IMG_9470.jpeg

Guess it's China showing their bias. LOL

I feel like it's probably a time-constraint issue (maybe they work on the head last) or they simplified the sculpt to make production of the mold less cumbersome - more details means the mold also has to be finer so that could add to cost or risk it not coming out correctly.

Hmm, I'd like to go with the time-constraint explanation. The simplification theory doesn't make too much sense when as previously mentioned, the TLK head sculpt was practically perfect. He has the right optic detailing and has his those smaller antenna on the back of his head. IMG_9469.jpeg IMG_9488.png Why it's the case there and not for ROTF Prime couldn't be explained away due to them wanting to simplify it. IMG_9470.jpeg IMG_5992_Original.jpeg

Also for one reason or another, ThreeZero intentionally made TLK Bee with a couple inaccuracies. He's missing his crotch license plate. IMG_9489.jpeg IMG_1648.jpeg

And his wheels don't have the rims. IMG_1647.png IMG_9489.jpeg

ThreeZero is an much an enigma when designing figures as Hasbro is...
