Unsurprisingly for that film and Prime's appearance in it, his face changes depending on the scene. He does sport the two tone faceplate in more than a few.

Though sometimes it can't be decided if it's lighting, wear or both driving it.

They couldn't decide what to do with this man's unmasked face either, I swear. IMG_9170.jpeg IMG_9768.jpeg IMG_9766.jpeg IMG_8011.jpeg IMG_9767.jpeg IMG_9299.png This could be just me being weird, and maybe his face hasn't changed much. But maybe the angles of his head make him look different. Add onto that his eyes keep changing size.

The eye changes are an emotive thing though, right? That's how I'm seeing it over what is more likely to be modellers and animators tripping up over each others work.

I dunno, it doesn't come off that way. Not in the same way Bumblebee's eyes do.
Prime only has two emotions in this film - anger and disappointment.

From a personal perspective and hanging around by a lot of 3D modelers, its usually due to the quality of the CG model and the CAD files used for the blueprints.
    That's what I see too.

His faceshape is mostly the same, but the eyes change a lot and I think its a addon for when he has to emote under the battle mask. The lighting is what throws it all off. Key lighting can really make or break a model depending on the reaction of the light hitting it.

That's why it looks so good in TF1 and the reboot ones(mostly), but the sequels squandered it because its either bleached orange filter over it, oversaturated, or spotlights in the dark. Its all rushed out without checking quality when its not just how the model looks, but how it looks under certain lighting and how it looks in the live action backdrop.

He does get more expressive in ROTB and Bee, its the Bayformers one that seems to be too stoic or dumb founded. I mean c'mon that's the most chill grandpa small smirk if I ever saw one.

If EMP can do a faceswap with an additional smirk with like ways to add blinking parts for the eyes, I'd pay more for what I originally paid.

Honest question, who would I contact for this sort of thing?

Finally got around to a proper shoot of this fella. All pics feature the EMP upgrade head and hands kit.

Been a while since I've done a full photoset of anything and it's fitting that Prime is the one I've gone with to showcase.

This is a jewel of my collection, an absolutely outstanding figure. Needed the upgrade (for me personally) to truly maximise its potential, but damn this thing sings regardless.

The paint is tremendous. The sculpting is fantastic. The articulation far exceeds what you think his dad bod is capable of. The balance is fantastic even in dynamic poses. And the attention he commands when you enter the room is absolute.

This is what I'm in this game for.

Angles like this really do the new head favors.
It reminds me of this shot, which is one of my favorites. IMG_0343.jpeg

These are my favorite shots. The poses and the angle really capture the spectacle of Optimus from that film and I'm sure BB was also incredible. Stinks I didn't get the early rounds of the emp head, but man I'm not regretting getting the July batch.

Maybe I'll get the hands later, but right now I want to see how the original stands on his own when he finally reaches my doorstep.

ROTB Optimus in the film rarely ever looked as cool and dynamic as he did in Napalm's photos.

Cheers for the kind words, guys.

@octobotimus, they were $50. Which I think is pretty steep compared to the heads, but they are great and certainly more robust in terms of build than I expected.

What I would say though, is that they're more of a 'nice to have' over an essential like the head. The swap out hands more than do the job for most emotive posing.

Bad photoshop job here but I think his face would have looked a lot better had they given him a bit more of a chin like this.

Ouch yeah that’s pretty steep. I like articulated hands but at $50 that’s an iffy one.

How much were the heads? They are looking rather nice.

Wow, that actually makes a huge difference! Looks a lot better.

It should have been at least that big or like Bayverse Prime's chin.
