Earlier this year, I saw one of those Optimus Prime cabs driving through the city by some warehouses. It wasnt red, it was all white Ultra Magnus style. I wouldn't think its too far fetched to see one of them, especially in more rural states. And I wouldnt be suprised if people paint them red on purpose now.

I get what you are saying, but I've seen several trucks similar to that flat cab prime, color and stripe, on the roads in last 20 years. And every time I get gitty like a dork and yell to whoever is in the car to LOOK IT'S OPTIMUS!!! I'm sure they were more common in the 80s too.

I love the movie design but this does nothing for me. Crazy 80s colors just don't work on realistic looking characters. The bright green head is especially doofy looking, IMO. Happy for those who want it though.

What are you saying is unrealistic? A flat nose truck, or a truck being bright red? I’ve seen both of those in real life, plus this movie takes place in the ‘80s, and flat nose trucks were super common back then. I googled “semi truck” and one of the first results I got was a bunch of red ones, and when I googled “‘80s semi truck” a flat nose was the first result.

I'd have bought him if they didn't sell out so fast. Oh well, I'll just settle for filling out his wiki page entry.

    I mean, that's a lot less ridiculous/unrealistic/conspicuous then Bay Prime's flame job...

Bumblebee Blitzwing was clearly not intended as an adaption of the G1 character Blitzwing, the attempts of the tie-in material and merchandise to retroactively force that connection is a little weird to me.

Still, it’s a fun experiment and it actually does look better than I would have imagined it being.

I know it's not in the film, but a part of me hopes that since we never saw a full corpse, Blitzwing survived, just heavily damaged. He's taken by the Sector 7 and is slowly rebuilt, and becomes the Triple Changer we know and love. Perhaps he is crazy like the Animated version. Would love to see more Animated's influence on the films. Even if it's just a few seconds in "Bumblebee 2".

Yeah, all we saw was a severed burning head, disintegrated torso, shoulders, boosters, calf pieces and the rest of his burning mechanical parts.

Also if they are reintroducing him, I wish it’s Shockwave who rebuild him using the parts of blitzwing, shatter and dropkick. Triple changing + triple personality.
Better than treating transformers like lifeless machines that humans can replicate

Absolutely disgraceful. I understand a reasonable up-charge but 250% is disgusting.

That would make an awesome backstory for a returning character instead of new ones just popping up out of nowhere. Him being put together from multiple robots would help explain maybe why he’d have multiple personalities too.

And as much as I like your idea, it’s unfortunate that we’re all expecting movie characters to be shallow. They’d never put that much story into a character.

I like this. Yeah it doesn’t make sense but so doesn’t transforming robots. Something like this could work in live action it just depends how you light and film it.

The same thing with flat nose semi’s. Sure they were pretty common place in the 70s and 80s but those original designs became iconic. You don’t mess with icons. You don’t radically change icons, or they no longer are the same thing. And I’m not beating the G1 only drum.

Things have to be updated and refreshed over time. But to the kids who played with those original versions, whether they moved on from the series as they got older or not, they would recognize Optimus Prime or Bumblebee or one of the others if they saw the likes of in the real world, they would recognize them as the mainstream audience in a film.
