True to G1 colors, but Megatron still doesn't get his flail.

Bummer, and I'm still holding out to finding a copy of his Marvel comics look.

Guess what, goofball? Some people like the toon colors, so that's probably why.

That's the point of my 4th thought. I like toon colors and yolopark is the toon design not in toon colors. I have already bought yolopark megatron and preordered prime. So if they are released in toon colors I would either have to buy them again or live with not have the version I would prefer.

I have the MDLX figures. I think they are great. Since the are in a stylized non g1 design I prefer the color schemes they came with.

Enough with the variants. Bring me Soundwave, Shockwave, and Jetfire. I demand satisfaction.

They need to do the repaints to pay for more characters and make more money. Getting the most of the mold as Kyle Peterson says lol.

His rear-right hip skirt on mine leaps off if I so much as lightly brush against it while moving any other part of him, tbh. I love the figure, he looks great, but (like with the Bumblebee I also have) those teeny tiny hip skirt ball-pegs are a weirdly frustrating design choice. (That and not giving articulated hands, which would imo be far preferable to the interchangeable ones, especially on Bee as the joint is so small it's a genuine worry every time!)

Sometimes people like """mismatches""" between design and deco. Detailed slight-movie-inspiration modern update with toon deco? Neat. Toon design with more realistic colors? Neat. These things can be quite appealing.

I’m starting to want 1984 toy accuracy for Bumblebee now. Except for the flat head and lack of waist.

Fully black arms with two wheels on each.

I always thought it was weird that the Sunbow models hide Prime and Bee's wheels. Pretty prominent parts on their toys designs.
But to be fair, that's most Sunblow designs.
But I found this art by WillMangin, it gives a pretty cool sight to how a refined, toy accurate Bee could look like. IMG_8476.jpeg
He Bumbleboots are too got damn big for he got damn feet.

That's actually a good question. I was gonna say the same price as the original releases - being $60 and $80 - though we've seen the prices of subsequent releases in the MDLX line have been steadily rising...

I know this isn't something we should really point out because we're consumers, and supposed to consume product, then wait for the next product. Though I don't know if "animation accurate" edition is totally...accurate.
Bee's spare tire is yellow on his animation model: IMG_8477.jpeg
But they've chosen to make it black on the figure... IMG_8478.jpeg
And as for Megatron, they have him his manly chest hair: IMG_8482.jpeg Though that was more a toy thing, not so much animation. IMG_8481.jpeg
And this one's just a nitpick, but if they were gonna do animation accurate color schemes, wouldn't it have been better to do the cell shaded design of the '86 film? IMG_8483.jpeg IMG_8480.png
Kinda like they did for the Siege figures? IMG_8484.jpeg
Though we're two years from the film's 40th anniversary, maybe they're waiting until they can once again milk these molds.

to be entirely fair, they aren't "animation accurate", they're "vintage animation inspired"

I guess they did carefully chose the words to describe this series, "inspired" kinda saved them the trouble. But maybe just "vintage" inspired would have worked better, both taken inspiration from the toys and animation.

iunno, i feel like if you're gonna go "vintage inspired" in just deco you still gotta lean very hard towards one specific vintage source for it to be distinctly recognizable and not just end up another "generalized G1 version". speaking of, i think a toy-inspired deco would be neat for MDLX Optimus
