He’s not worth it imo also, hopefully it’s just the wingspan and not the new standard but who knows. Would be nice if bigger characters at that price also if it’s the standard.
Yeah I assumed the MDLX line was meant to be a cheaper alternative to the DLX line which was also a cheaper alternative to their premium line. Of course they are smaller but meant to still feel like collector figures. I think $120 is getting a little too close to their DLX line, which can range from $160 to $240 depending on the figure. That being said though, I am sure there are figures that would still be appealing at $120, just not this Starscream for me.
As someone who so far doesn’t collect the line, I think so as well. It gets very close to that DLX pricepoint. Despite the design differences, the cheaper price was a big drawing point for the line. If it was say Grimlock, or say Astrotrain for example, a bigger character, I still would wish it was cheaper but would be more accepting of it because he’s a bigger bot.
Not a popular opinion but I love it. Growing up with them I used to have Optimus and the white robot Ultra Magnus team up all the time, switch trailers, etc. I’d use the armour as a power up. So when Dreamwave had that issue where the armour was destroyed and he was running around like this I about cheered. I do hope we get a proper taller Ultra Magnus in the line as well.
Aesthetically it is a very beautiful figure and that painting, to my surprise, suits him very well. But I will have to pass for first time in an MDLX figure, this Magnus does not interest me and I must save to pay for Starscream. It is a pity.
Keep checking the listing and it'll be available eventually. I think quite a few people get hit with fomo and preorder just for the sake of it then realize later they don't want it and will cancel their order which will make it available for someone like yourself to jump on. There will definitely be a good shot at picking up dropped preorders around the time the item is due to be released as people re-evaluate actually wanting the thing.
I see ShowZStore still allows you to preorder it. I assume this will be for non-US version. Will there be a difference in packaging?
No idea. All my ThreeZero stuff in hand or preordered has so far been through BBTS and Amazon. The boxes from those though have English and Japanese (I assume) like Masterpiece Transformers boxes do in a way that makes me think you'll be fine with the packaging matching, but also don't hold me to that... haha. Cheers!
He looks so awesome.... I got my balance request from sbowz recently so I should have him in hand soon as well.
