TransformersMDLX Megatron – threezero store Following the launch of MDLX Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, threezero is proud to announce the third character from the MDLX series; Megatron, the supreme leader of the Decepticons! MDLX is a new series of articulated figures capturing the spirit of threezero’s renown DLX series at a smaller scale with a similar high range of articulation and great durability resulting in a groundbreaking affordable price. The Transformers MDLX line of figures are based on the original 1980s The Transformers cartoon and toy line, as redesigned by threezero Art Director Kelvin Sau. The iconic designs have been remixed to incorporate threezero’s hyper-detailed mechanical aesthetic, offering a familiar and exciting new presentation. Transformers MDLX figures feature threezero’s unique die-cast zinc alloy and engineer-grade plastic frame system, which retains the tactile playability and durability of the figure. Each figure is finished off with the detailed craftsmanship and weathered paint application that threezero is known for, bringing beloved Transformers characters to a new format for all to enjoy. Transformers – MDLX Megatron is approximately 7” (18 cm) tall, with approximately 45 points of articulation and a die-cast metal frame. Accessories include one fusion cannon, one back cannon, and four sets of interchangeable hands. Definitely looking forward to this, wondering how long it’ll be till they reveal the Hot Rod prototype?
I like it!! Prime was a weird one. But this fits with the Bumblebee we got much better Now we just need...The Boy.
No, not at all. The headsculpt is pretty terrible in my opinion, it's a funny old shape and the face is giving off the worst of early FPJ/MT vibes. Everything else looks brilliant but with my lack of enthusiasm for their Prime, it's enough to put me off.
People who say this on this website probably don't know a single thing about gundam bcs this looks nothing like a gundam.
The chest doesn’t? It has the middle-raised section (as if for a cockpit) and the vents. Maybe, it’ll be easier to see if it were white or blue and the vents in yellow.
Transformers are kissing cousins so I'm cool with that Gundam influence. In fact my favoriote TF designs (IDW MTMTE) have always had a bit of Gundam inspiration.
Doesn't "wow" me even though everything's fine overall EXCEPT the face sculpt - gives me a poker face vibe. I want my Meg to have a menacing, tyranny look (unless it's SG/IDW Autobot Meg... MAYBE). Hope there are more/better headsculpts included. Also, the whole body proportion doesn't speak G1 Megatron enough to me. If the chest is just a bit wider, the legs a bit longer & slimmer should do it for me.
kissing cousins??? Personally, I hate Gundam. Liked it maybe a decade or so ago, but now I'm completely over it. So a lot of the Flame Toys stuff is unappealing to me, as it's just Strike Freedom and all that jazz repainted in Star Saber colors... Not seeing any Gundam-ish influence here, personally. Maybe proportions-wise, somewhat. But thankfully it doesn't have all those pointy bits and pointless fins everywhere, nor the sandal-style feet or a "v" on its face.
Really could have used an alternate face or something. Paint work on the proto looks amazing as always but the blank face just makes him fall into 'eh'.
Looks great to me. Since he's pretty much a voyager size he'd make a great Megatron for CHUG display. Okay maybe he would look a little too fancy there, but I've never been totally happy with any classics Megatron.
It's an expression meaning they have a close relationship, but not too close. Oh I agree, as shows I don't like Gundam much, but the mechanics aesthetic is iconic.
