or look at the Jeep Wranger or Porsche 911 There's a reason the style stays similar after so many years.
Huh. I got the flame toys Megatron model to be my Megs. I like this one a lot better. Might hold off on assembling the kit and move on to something else.
Actually, he will be taller than Flame Toys Model Megs. FT Model Megs is 6" tall and MDLX Bee is 5" tall. Going by the image below and assuming MDLX Megs is tall as Prime, he should probably be around 7" tall (and if not that, at least as tall as FT Model Megs).
Threezero's articulation in the DLX line never ceases to amaze me. Look at that articulation! There's nothing worse than picking up a figure and wanting to mess around with it only to have your imagination stopped by the limited articulation of a figure. Not with these DLX figures though.
The face sculpt itself is fine, but the brow-line is too shallow. Optimus needs a nice deep helmet brim for Kubrick Stare action.
This new MDLX line looks pretty good, I wonder if my kids (age 5-6) is old enough to play... or its gonna be mainly for me... *need an excuse to buy toys... to get wife's approval* hahaha
Was literally about to post the same thing. Hopefully it’s just the angle, as the “brim” of the helmet is raised.
I love to see this. I haven't gotten any ThreeZero stuff yet because the other stuff competes with the FT K3 line too much but this stuff looks right up my alley. Grimlock and Nova Prime when?
Okay, lemme stop ya there. Transformers became G1 because Hasbro made that decision. For a long time in the franchise history, it was in fact very different. The fact that I can say the default G1 designs have become a boring choice is because there's a lot more to choose from. Also because Bumblebee showed some ideas of extra stylization the other three are lacking which did have me somewhat interested in what this line could do besides being slavish G1. From Beast Wars to as recently as Rid2011, the general audience's idea of who the Transformers were has been incredibly varied. Even now you see that with how Bumblebee is rarely G1 inspired but instead taking cues from the Bay design because that one printed money for Hasbro. Even your examples are weak because Superman wearing "red and blue" doesn't mean his design has never seen changes and tweaks to it. Same with Captain America. Same with Optimus Prime. There are a lot of varied designs that are still identifiable as the core characters even on a glance. No one looks at Armada Prime or RID2001 Prime and thinks "Who could this character be?!" After nearly a decade of only these designs when I grew up with a myriad of incarnations, yes, I am bored of this oversaturation of the absolute baseline from a franchise so steeped in a history of fresh takes on the core concepts and characters. Lord forbid someone want any other incarnation of Optimus besides bog standard G1 considering there's literally no shortage of options for that. I like the idea of this line, and would like to see it expand. You wanna enjoy the G1 guys, by all means, but don't try and soapbox against people who would like a chance at something different after nearly 10 years straight of G1, G1, and yet more G1. I'm keeping my eye out if they do anything that might get me to go in on a buy for now.
Very nice, but I have interpretations of G1 Optimus coming out my ears. If I go in on this line I'll obviously get him (and love him), but Rodimus and Megs will be far more a determining point for me.
