I do hope they are wrong about him being 28.5 cm. 30-32 would be more fitting…

 

I´ve been waiting for this since the announcement in July? August? I don´t remember! But if the height is really 11,2 (barely 29 cm) than it´s really too short.... He should be taller than Prime, with 32-33 cm I would also be happy.
I would also ask the moderator to close the thread I made (even if it was opened before this one).

I know it wasn't technically an 'official' mode but it would've been neat to see a toy try and utilize the half tank / half robot mode he had in some merch.

been waiting for this one. but concerned that he is speced out to be too small. Threezero (and ThreeA of old) don't seem to give a damn about relative scale. this version of megs is supposed to be taller than prime... hopefully the "bulk" of the design carries it.

 

Should have made him an inch bigger but glad to see they nailed his design. I thought they would have trouble with this one since it's a complex one.

EDIT: Actually it looks like their height is pretty on par with one another and this is with Prime hunched over about to die. Taking back my comment on him needing to be taller.

Can't stop looking at this, I can't wait until we see more pics! The paintwork looks incredible, all the rust looks so freaking good, and then there's the details. He even has the Cybertronian symbols on him, man!! I wonder if he'll have a regular rm to swap out the weapon arm, plus a battle-damaged head would be cool as well. I'm not too fussed about the size, he should be a bigger size despite some shots in the movie making him and Prime similar in height but this works. He should be the same height as DLX Prime and ThreeA/ThreeZero have never really cared about scale for better or worse. I think their Bumblebee movie DLX figures scale fairly accurately but they've seemed like the exception in that regard.

 

Their scale changes all the time in the movies. Their official scale is Optimus being 28ft and Megatron being 35. You can see for example Megatron and Sentinel's height changing massively in dotm. There are entire threads about this

in most shots and in canon (i think) megatron is actually a 35 feet with prime being 28. what they often did within the actions and especially the forest fight is that the robots changed size to fit the shot better.

 

I'm sure he's bigger "officially" but it's not something you see at all in ROTF unfortunately. Having scrubbed through the entire thing, there isn't a single other scene where they're actually next to each other to get an actual height check between the two. I'm fine with them being the same height here on the DLX.

Would be another story if it was a case of it being very obvious throughout the movie but the screenshot I posted is quite literally the only few seconds in the entire movie that you see their scale with one another. They don't share any screen time together at all in ROTF outside of that fight and when Optimus is in Jet Prime mode. Honestly makes it frustrating and redundant more than anything that they even have an official height spec. It's not even something they honored or followed at all from the looks of it. Seeing Megatron actually being bigger than Prime in the movie would have been great.

 

that's completely fair and that's actually a good point and honestly weird to think about.
