i could make the same argument about most of these non-transforming premium figures. I won't because I was never going to buy them. not sure why this is causing so much fuss.

3zero, keep your efforts where it counts. The shows models are already 1:1 accuracy with the toys to a fault, place your efforts on better things.

Edit: To clarify, even though I use SS 38 Optimus here to prove a point, it's still a pretty great figure.

 

Because the voyager is the original design. This figure is literally copying parts that make the design look worse And only existed because it had to transform. This thing can’t transform yet keeps the horrible kibble and looks nearly identical.

And as @Rumblestorm pointed out, the other premium figures aren’t even close to being comparable.

 

It's a $200 premium figure based on an animated design based on a $30 toy.   We are reaching new levels that we haven't ventured to before XD

 

The more I look at this the more I am just at a loss for words. Like, just... “WHY?!?!” Man, now I really wished Netflix used the concept art from the packaging as the designs were so much better there.

This figure managed to look more articulated and detailed than the animation model

 

It’s not bad looking, but, as a $200 figure, it should’ve been based off of the artwork for the toy line rather than the voyager figure and animation model. It’s too bad they didn’t do the vastly superior WFC game design.

 

Man, this is actually way more terrible than anything I could have thought was about to happen. I mean my god, this just reeks of a hasbro suit forcing this shit into a contract.

Hopefully these will just shamefully bomb off in the shadows so that they can go back to doing actual worthwhile things.

 

The weird shaped windows. The goofy stumpy shortstacks with the huge circle ports. The giant slab of plywood backpack. This design is SO. BAD. Why? Threezero?? Why?

 

For a show that has maybe a 20% chance of being good they're really going hard on it.

 

I'm starting to feel like Hasbro forced them to do this for whatever contract-related BS.

 

I don't think I need this. We need more movie stuff and yeah, it has all the kibble, and yeah, I'm gonna ask why like a few others.

This is the only way this makes any sense. Like there's absolutely no way they thought there was a demand for an upscaled non-transforming version of a $30 toy with kibble and everything.
