Trying really hard to make his dumb sword-gun weapon look not dumb lol

It’s too bad the WFC show and IDW 2.0 are straight up using the toy models as opposed to say the Siege box art designs.

All the other stuff they did was not based on a toy/show, it was based on movie characters that don't look like the toy at all, and are very very well detailed, but these look exactly like a 30$ toy with all the kibble. Yeah, people do want them and the Megatron looks okay. The movie figures are screen accurate, without kibble. So I think there is legit confusion as to the point of these. The Flame Toys stuff isn't based on toys either, It's IDW, designs (for the most part). It doesn't differentiate itself enough for me to purchase one, when I can get a 30$ version of the same thing, with all the kibble and it transforms. That being said, I am gonna get the R.E.D. stuff and they don't have kibble.

 

I’m not too concerned about what these are based on, they are a separate entity for me. It is based on a $30 transforming toy, yes, but they aren’t the same thing. Voyager class BB Prime isn’t the DLX one, although they are the same design.

These WFC figures are the same design, with infinitely superior articulation, paint, diecast, and lights. They in no way look like a $30 toy, and they certainly won’t feel like a $30 toy, when they get picked up.

 

Except those movie BB designs aren’t using the SS figures and copying them even down to the seems. These are literally the voyager figures just blown up and a bit better at posing (not infinitely better since the originals already pose well). They may be painted well, but they by nature are made to look like the cheap $30 toys just with fancy paint.

 

He has... Fake treads with wheels... Like the actual toy.... Coincidence?

 

Megatron doesn't even have treads, he's a hover tank. He shouldn't even touch the ground in alt mode!

Thank you, I accept your apology. I am also allowed to have an opinion, and I think bringing unnecessary negativity to thread for a figure you don't plan to buy is just bad form. If you have a problem with how this figure looks, take it up with Has-Tak. Has-Tak designed this version of Optimus Prime. This is how he will look in the series. ThreeZero is just following the source material. Again, no one is forcing you to buy this, so why complain? There is no point in complaining about something you have no interest in. Others have shown interest. Don't rain on their parade.

New Trailer - oh look the kibble and stuff is there. This figure is source accurate. Again, if you don't like it don't buy it. If you don't like the kibble or aesthetic complain to Hasbo-Takara, or be cool, and save the negativity. It's not needed.

Who thought it was a good idea to have New IDW and Netflix to use the exact toy models???
Why not go for cleaner designs inspired by the toys like the box art for Seige and Earthrise

It looks so silly especially Chromia and inevitably Arcee in Earth Rise..

how many more characters would they expect to do in this line? Are any/all of the show characters up for grabs? Do they switch over and make Earthrise versions (and Kingdom versions) in a year or so?

Again, if a high end $200 figure that looks like a $30 figure that can easily be bought on Hasbro Pulse interests you, then more power to you. I’m not telling you to not buy it. You are free to spend your hard earned money any way you wish. I wasn’t aware my opinion was stopping you from whipping your credit card out and buying this.

It’s absolutely ironic that members of a website comprised of discussion boards get all caught up in their feels when people, total random internet strangers, spot opinions they don’t like.

Hopefully, these and the two Sideshow exclusive repaints can fund Shatter and Dropkick (and Shockwave, and Ironhide, and some Bayverse stuff, and.....).
