I wanted to know what people's thoughts on original or new characters been created for the movies? Such as the potential one revealed today "Q", and potentially the Ferrari called "Rush.

I personally don't mind. I think it's better for the Transformers community at large to have new and fresh characters, rather than old ones been constantly reused.

Look at the success of Lockdown and Lugnut from Animated as an example.

I've got nothing against it, either. The appearance of new characters prevents the Transformers multiverse from becoming stale.

also i think it brings new life into the tf world, and allows other to use those characters again , and gives fans something to rejoice or moan at.

I love stereotypical characters with stupid names! Bring on Hot Sauce! ( He is a day laborer hired from Cyberton for cheap. He has no skills, but he works hard without questions.) Or a new Decepticon.. his name is Bomber, he has been brainwashed by Megatron into packing highly explosive materials, and when the Autobots are near, he commits suicide.

That's the thing with original characters...

Sometimes they work (BW Dinobot, Animated Lockdown, RID Sky-Byte, etc.)

Sometimes they don't (ROTF Skids & Mudflap, BM Nighstade, etc.)

You can never tell. I'll be willing to give "Q" a change, mainly because he doesn't have that goofy look right off the bat like the Twins did.

He doesn't? Robots don't wear glasses, nor do they have old man hair, nor should they look like Albert Einstein for any reason whatsoever unless your a stupid, lazy, incompetent writer and/or designer.

I can accept glasses as some kind of scope for robots, but not sure about the hair. The thing that bothers me most is his plain bald head.

Those guys look cool, Q looks like a joke. Yes robots APPEAR to have glasses and hair sometimes, but they don't need them, it's just for aesthetics. Do you honestly think I'm that stupid?

Don't change the subject, I didn't say whether they need them or not. I personally don't care either way.

I'm just pointing out that you're crapping on Bayverse characters for things found repeatedly throughout the TF franchise as a whole, which just makes it sound like you're in a blind rage.

I thought ROTF was the worst film of its year, but let's not let our hate blind us to what the franchise is. Let the criticisms actually be criticisms and not OMG HIM HAVE GLASSES THAT R DUMB!

ROTF was the worst film of the year, and I don't want a repeat! It seems like Bay knows its going to make a shit load of money anyway, and he doesn't give a damn about the characters. That's bullshit, and I have a right to be mad. Speilberg even said he was a big fan, and he is the producer, well guess what? he's a fucking liar! He's just in it for the money like Bay.

I physically cannot write the word "roll" enough to truly indicate to you the movement of my eyes.

We haven't seen anything about the shooting of this film that doesn't line up with something else in the Transformers franchise.

    Shockwave's Purple One-Eyed Visage?

A racecar with weapons that deploy in vehicle mode?

    A robot with teeth?

Seriously, it's like you haven't even been following Transformers for the last two and a half decades.

New characters prevents old characters from being over-used to death. Personally, I like the invention of new characters. Look at Lugnut and Lockdown in Animated. Reedman was really cool in ROTF.
I'd rather see new characters be put into the franchise, like Q for instance, rather than see an old classic butchered.

I like new characters over changing old characters to fit.

Sort of like with Beast Wars instead of changing a Decepticon to be the Rodney Dangerfield of the Predicons they invented Waspinator.

Taking a fairly obscure character like Blackout to build a character doesn't really hurt either. Without much to go on it's really hard to say they did Blackout wrong since there wasn't much there to begin with.

I have. I still buy toys, just got Thrust and Drift today! I just want a movie that makes sense, like the first one, with characters, new or old, like the first one. Jetfire, and Devastator were a joke! Q is a joke! Soundwave was a joke! The new female actor isn't even an actor! That's a joke! The Fallen... a joke! It's just a big toy commercial. I don't even care if Megatron or Starscream come back, because they are jokes! It's pretty sad when a fan doesn't care if Megatron is in the film or not. I don't care at this point. Hell, put Sauron in there, that might be a threat.
