I am so tired of everyone thinking this knight poster is Steelbane, when he looks nothing like the deluxe figure

I'd agree. There are a lot of general design similarities like his forearms, shins and some bits of his chest, but the face is totally different. Also, the bot on the poster has asymmetrical shoulder armour,

But, a fair amount of movie characters look a bit off in their first toy rendition. Look at '07 Leader Optimus versus his ROTF toy. Likewise, the AOE Dinobots toys (though awesome) didn't look a lot like they did on film.

I dunno OP. You raise a good point that is definitely plausible, but maybe they have once again taken some liberties with the toy design? I guess we'll have to wait and see

 

Assuming Steelbane is an actual character and not just a name given to the generic knights for the sake of representing them as a toy like they did with all the TF07 game drones.

Yea I honestly don't think "Steelbane" is a character. Just a toy name.

 

Yeah, the head and shoulders look right but the chest detail is more circular. Considering how all these knights look so similar, I think Split Lip is right and that none of them are actually going to be named in the film.

 

All of the knights that beat the shit out of Optimus all have Steelbane's design too. He's a generic mostly.

 

Deluxe Steelbane is not the same guy on the poster, but he might as well be since they're probably all just generic knights.

 

Indeed it does, albeit with a different head. They probably mixed different elements of the Knights into Steelbane but didn't make it specific to any one Knight. Steelbane has a much more obvious face for example, for the sake of the toy likely, but all the Knights have huge faceplates and obscured eyes like the one Prime's stabbing there.

 

Nope, Steelbane's design exists in the movie. First seen in the trailer where Knights were punching Prime, he's behind him. He's in the new tv spot too.

 

I'm honestly surprised people think every knight they see is Steelbane. This is him.

 

Id like to remind the court that the AoE deluxe Bumblebee doesn't look like the version of BB that was on screen.

 

Do you mean the AoE repaint that is marketed as a TLK Bumblebee doesn't look like what's in the movie?
