A thread to talk about out dated every day items. I'll start.

Maybe its just me, but there are very few receptacles in my apartment that dont have a power bar, because i have so many electronic devices plugged in. Phones, tablets laptops, computers, tvs, video game consoles, lamps, clocks, routers, modems, fans, etc. I have 4 receptacles, 8 outlets total. It just doesnt cut it these days. And why are the plugs so damn big still, when the wiring is so small.

Is it time for a change in this near hundred year old design?

It's because thy would never swap completely over to another plug system for quite along time because people wouldn't ever be able to upgrade every house everywhere.

Even though they are making new light bulbs the standard they made them compatible with what we have already.

I tried to plug in my laptop at my Grandmother's yesterday. There's not a single outlet in that house with 3 prongs...

I sometimes have that problem. Which is why I always carry around an adapter so my three-prong laptop power cable can easily draw power from a two-prong outlet.

Eh with those older plugs you might have aluminum wire which is worse .doing electrical work I've seen old plugs n aluminum wire cause many fires

Same problem at my grandparent's house.

I see the vinyl records are starting to make a comeback with the hipsters. I think it'd be really neato if VHS make a comeback too.

Pulled out my old game gear and tiger football the other day too. I think the game gear still works, but I only keep the tiger around for sentimental value.

I still got an old Amdek color monitor from the 80's that I use to play my VHS tapes and non-HD video game systems on.
