Maybe not in this movie, but I was wondering if may be we might see a Bludgeon in the future? It seems that the way the movies are going, that the humans learned and copied the warriors aspects of the Transformers - like making body armor that looks like Tranformers and making the weapons they wield. Perhaps in Japan, the a different set of Transformers that looked like samurais taught the Japanese to build armor, weapons, and fighting. Since Bludgeon has a very samurai look (and Drift), could we possibly see him in the movie-verse?
Because Bay doesn't want or unable or thought about it and changed his mind about using this character. Though the idea would be great and even with the toy introduction was in TF2 (I think). Bay could use Bludgeon vs Drift since they have similar qualities.- Just throwing out the possibility Lastly, I think someone had a post saying that "Hasbro wants more say in the movie production for TF movies" that could be a driving force not to use Bludgeon. (Not to say it won't happen but probability wise there is a slime chance).
How can you be so sure though? For all we know, he might be planning to include him in the later movies. Why wouldn't Hasbro want Bludgeon to appear in the movies? Is it because he already has a movieverse toy? (that is 7 years old) Lockdown had one too and he was the main antoganist in AOE.
Bay might include him in the movies in the far future, perhaps someone from the boards can ask him through facebook or twitter to know for sure. Has for Hasbro wanting Bludgeon to appear in the movies since he already has a toy could follow in the same footsteps as asking Hasbro through contacting customer service or corporate for a legitimate answer.
They've taken from TV and comics and combined it with the lore already established. So it's a possibility.
I could see it happening. Just hope they based his design on that Movie Voyager they made of him a few years ago.
I would love to see Bludgeon, he would probably look totally different from the NEST toy though just like Lockdown. If the plot device of a future film ties Cybertonian history to Ancient Japan it would be a perfect time to introduce him.
That'd be absolutely fucking awesome but you guys know damn well he'd get slaughtered in the movies. Sad since he's such an awesome character.
There was A Bludgeon in the movieverse, but in a comic "Rising Storm", the prequel to DOTM. I believe he died in it. He was no different from a regular throwaway grunt anyway.
I think he played a larger role in the UK comics. He was also in that Japanese comic that was printed in the MPM instruction manuals, the name escapes me at the moment. Plus those Cyber Mission episodes! Man I miss expanded universe material for the movies.
You actually just gave me an idea for a spinoff. A movie about Drift's turn from the Decepticons, possibly taking place before or during DOTM. He'd only have his helicopter mode, to better fit with the image of a Decepticon. At some point, he and Bludgeon would meet up with Dylan Gould, (Patrick Hempsey's character) who if you remember, wasn't actually willingly cooperating with the Decepticons. He would've been the one to teach them about the warriors of Earth's past, explaining their Samurai motifs, but only Drift would understand their code of honor, Bushido. Drift eventually decides Earth is worth protecting, and sabotages the Cons' plan to capture Sentinel - this mission would be taken up by the Dreads later - by taking down Bludgeon and going into hiding. Sometime after the Battle of Chicago, Drift reveals himself to the Autobots, and in true Optimus fashion, Prime welcomes him to the team. ...Good god, this sounds like a fanfic.
